  1. Dear Bram, on BitTorrent's Creator Bram Cohen Interviewed · · Score: 5, Funny

Please make a "no uploading" option button on BitTorrent, because I am a leech, signed the Kazaa masses.

  2. It sounds like... on Kazaa Offices Raided · · Score: 1

  3. Re:If you don't like it, move on Comcast Targets Internet "Abusers" · · Score: 1

Right. Many people, like me, would be happy to just switch to DSL but can't because cable is the only high-speed service available. I'm never going back to the dial-up, NEVER!

  4. Re:Valve Hammer Editor on Trying Your Hand at Level Design? · · Score: 1

I like to play with the Worldcraft 2.0 editor. Of course you could just go old school and start with the Doom editor. I know a lot of people first started making maps with that!

  5. Re:Where's MandrakeMove? on Four Linux Live CDs, The Executive Summary · · Score: 1

Yeah, Mandrake Move is great from checking out Mandrake (like the SuSE live-eval cd). Other live distros worth checking out are the Knoppix-STD (security tools distro), Phlak, Stux, Flonix, Morphix, LNX-BBC (another mini-cd distro), BhavyaOS... just scratching the surface.

  7. Re:"Kate Rose" doesn't sound japanese... on Live Action Neon Genesis Evangelion Concept Art · · Score: 1

True, not many Japanese live action TV shows are as good as American (except GTO maybe), but the movie industry, especially the asian film industry as a whole, is as good or better IMO. Just be sure to see Hero when it hits theaters here this year (if they offer it subbed).

  8. Re:I remember all of this on Macintosh's 1984 Debut · · Score: 1

Still, it's a lot of hype for >5% desktop usage.

  9. Re:Cool... on RIAA Takes the Fight to the Streets · · Score: 1

You want to know the real truth about Waco? They were downloading MP3s and pirating CDs. After the Waco incident, the ATF changed it's name to RIAA but it's still the same people.

  10. Re:Just bear through it. on Best Way To Beat A Caffeine Addiction? · · Score: 1

Alcohol is a mental addiction, so even if you haven't had a drink in years the urge can come back and hit you pretty hard. I have a bad caffeine addiction. Does anybody make caffeinated water, because I want to drink more water and cut down the sugar in soda (diet soda taste like battery acid). Maybe just caffeine pills and bottled watter?! YEAH!

  12. Re:Solution ? on Wind Turbines Kill a Few Birds · · Score: 1

Yes, but I guess we have to realize "green" energy like wind-power has it's victims too. Just how vegaterians sometimes don't realize the grains they eat cause the deaths of tens of thousands of animals yearly in harvesters and other machines. Animals are going to get killed one way or another.

  13. Re:Old run down neighborhoods are great places on Proper Disposal Of Old PCs? · · Score: 3, Funny

Somebody left a computer on the sidewalk next to the trash in my (not so run down) neighborhood. Took it home and it was a working 200mhz! Sadly, no porn was left on it.

  14. Re:A backpack! on Recommendations For A Good Laptop Bag? · · Score: 1

Right, I have never liked regular laptop bags, I'm always swinging them into things more than backpacks. As an avid outdoors person, I use a The North Face "Borealis" day pack for laptop/school. They aren't as cheap as Jansport but higher quality and worth it.

  15. Re:one word on Head Of ATF To Direct RIAA Anti-Piracy · · Score: 1

Yes, just the other day I was joking about the RIAA becoming like the ATF! I can see it now, a lan party will be the next Waco!

  16. Frozen hardware on What's the Hardiest Hardware You've Seen? · · Score: 1

I too, have frozen hardware. I read an article in a computer mag a few months back about recovering data from a dead HD; one idea was to stick the HD into the freezer for an HOUR and maybe it would move the head/platters enough to get some data off for a short time. Well, I forget about the 4gig I stuck in our freezer. For a few months. Took it out today and it works! Slapped it in a ghettobox and slapped Slackware on it!
