Whats even worse is that I have never seen any online store do a basic check to see if users were on a proxy or not, which could easily help reduce fraud if they did.
They would not be much of an online store if they refused most of their sales. What you don't think people buy things at work, behind a proxy?
It would be great to ditch IE. I could get about 150 people off of IE at work, If I could get around a display issue with firefox. I have posted this issue on Slashdot before. Anybody got any ideas?
I imagine that is the purpose of the "unique ID". When the ID is lost, a new one is created. If the old ID shows up again. They know it is bogus. Just guessing though I didn't RTFA.
All my programs would have a great interfaces if they only had 1 boolean variable in it. A light switch is very simple. But try connecting it to the internet, email a friend and do your accounting with a light switch.
Firefox is great I use it when I can. Except it isn't there yet. I still have to tell my users to view certain pages in IE because there is no way to display the same information using Firefox. Show me a Firefox equivalent to IE's css flipv and fliph and I will re-code my sites and stop recommending IE. Unfortunately I have work to do and IE does get it done (most of the time).
Actually yes. A client of mine had a data center run by UPS with an undersized control unit for the batter array they were using. When said ups overheated the data center was filled by a rancid smell, evacuated and was shut down until it was cleared by the fire department.
I don't think the bad news is that bad. This technology doesn't exist in any cpu's currently. 3 years doesn't sound bad to me... my 2c's anyway

Apple would probably sue you for patent infringement. They have the click wheel patented.
