Actually most retailers are offering the PS2, with
network adapter, and one game (I forget which one)
all for $149. If you take into account those two
extra's it is a great deal and I can see why
people are picking them up.

what can I say? This is cool as hell. Can you
imagine what 10 or 20 years of developement in
the "invisibility" field will produce? I have
a feeling this is only the tip of the iceberg.
kvn
seriously if anyone thinks this game nomatter how
legendary (and cool) the author, is going to
revitalize the arcade they are smoking the same
thing I was when I lived and breathed his original
classics (stargate..robotron..)
I expected arcade games to have evolved about 100
or so in magnitude from the Virtuality systems
of the early 90's. What the hell happened?

Of course, Donkey Kong did not start on the coleco
vision it was an arcade game. In the original DK
the "mario" like guy was called Jumpman, he wasn't
referred to as Mario until the game "Mario bros"
came out, which features Mario, but is nothing
like SMB.
kvn
I don't see why not. Most people bought the NES
because of SMB. That system never would have
taken off the way it did bringing the indust. out
of the video game crash of the 80's if it weren't
for SMB.

sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but if 2d
platformers aren't a thing of the past as this
article suggests then why are all the games listed
in the top 10 from the 80's??? Sorry, but while
we may see a really great side scrolling/platform
game in the future it will be for a trip down
nostalgia lane to attract the 30'somethings (like
me) that grew up playing them. Text adventures
weren't simply a limitation of hardware either,
they had something to offer that was far different
from the games that were made possible by home
computers with sprite graphics, but that doesnt
mean they are anything but a thing of the past
now...

Atari ALWAYS made PC games. Even in the 80's you
could buy Pacman, Donkeykong, Asteroids etc.. for
your PC (thru Atarisoft) and in the 90's games for
the Jaguar that weren't already PC ports were to
be brought over to the PC as well (thru Atari
Interactive) only one made it, Tempest 2000.
kvn
Is there someplace to view screenshots or
watch a video of his latest game?
One other thing, didn't he do a racing game
back in the 90's called Rad Racer? I noticed
the article didn't mention this.
kvn
Didn't they have something like this for the
Atari 8-bit computers? I can't remember why, but
I always hated commodore 64's (commies). Give
me a 800xl anyday!!!

Robbie the robot and the "Robot" from Lost in Space are the same robot (or robot suite). kvn ps. get it right you tin plated ninny!

These things are really just mini NES consoles. The games are ports, so it will end up being no more a c64 then atari or anything else. kvn
