As an Australian citizen, I would hope that I'm not the average American voter.
And yes, I concede that the average American voter is too retarded to read more than 5 minutes, and would rather get back to watching MTV. It is that fact that is the primary reason the US government has degenerated to the cesspool of corruption that it is today.
If I took two of your 42" panels, played a 720p and a 1080p signal on each, and told you to stand 3 feet back, you'd not bee able to tell which was which. 1080p is a waste on anything smaller than 50", and even at that size, it's marginal at best.
You don't seem to have a grasp of how large 128 bit is.
You can allocate 10^19 addresses to every man, woman and child every second for the next 65 thousand years before you'd run out of addresses
I can't even think of any reasonable number to divide 128bit by that results in a reasonable number. See, I divided your 10^19 into 128 bit and I was still left with a number so big that it could be allocated 6 billion times a second without running out in any time frame we'd ever care about (65 thousand years plus).
You see, 640k is a number that is inside of a meaningful range. 128 bits is a number that is not inside any number range that gets dealt with on this planet, in any scope.
I can safely say, and I defy time to prove otherwise, that we will never run out of IPv6 addresses unless we deliberately do something stupid like allocate them as a fraction of total space rather than as discrete parcels.
And I'm contending that the information on this is not the same as "just another webpage".
Imagine if you were interested in building a new house
You better believe that I'd spend at least several hours going over his final plans to make sure it a) complied with local laws b) matched what I wanted properly and c) indicated that he knew what he's doing.
especially if the boring minutia were technical enough she would have trouble understanding it anyhow
Sure, I don't want *every* piece of minutia. But I sure as *hell* want more than five minutes' worth of detail.
Yea, because of course, we don't want to make people spend more than five minutes doing something as inconsequential as choosing who gets to be the most powerful man on the planet.
I was specifically and deliberately alluding to that argument, making fun of it.
Do you have any idea how big an unsigned 128bit number can be? It's so large that you can't even get your head around it. It's so big that if you had that many atoms, the resulting object would weigh over 500 million tons.
The number is so big that I dare you to even try to make sense of it, let alone actually use it in a practical example of anything that is not on a quantum scale.
It's so big that it's nonsensical even in the context of nanotechnology. If you made robots that were 1/1,000th the size of a grain of sand, and you had enough to fill only one billionth of the IPv6 address space, the total mass of the nano robots would be greater than the Earth.
Radar tech: Sir, I'm tracking an object that appears to be roughly eight inches long, orbiting roughly where you'd expect an object to be if it were jettisoned from the ISS.
Ex-ISS senior staffer: I don't want to talk about it.
Radar tech: Sir, but according to these readings, it appears to have a bulbous end and is made of silicone rubber...
Ex-ISS senior staffer: Dammit Dennis I said I don't want to talk about it!
No, you're thinking of AL GOREism.
TIMMARHY!!!!!!
Oh, you mean the other one?
"without us ever being conscious of the massive investment to get to that point"
I guarantee you that the countries that were used as an excuse to wage war are very conscious of it too.

You paid less for a 1080p panel than a 720p one? That's obviously not the norm.

"rights attorneys bother you"
They do insofar as we have a need for them.
Oh no! Here come the G{#000000}AA trolls!

Alternatively you could use a firewall and a password.
Just sayin'.
Broadband over power lines != LAN over power wiring.
We will not run out of IPv6 addresses.
A 128bit addresses space really is enough for anyone. No, really.
One would assume that that's what was meant, given that he got away with it for the better part of a year.
He told his boss that he was only going to take a 0.002 hour break.
I'd say [Citation needed] however I really don't want anything else from where you pulled that statement from.
Yea, just look at how the public at large shares the control of and profit from the telco carriers in the western world!
My warning to the poor:
Beware geeks bearing gifts.
Hey! Who gave mod points to the Verizon employees?!
A few bounties can fix that right up.
Yes, but if your CPU loads data faster you'll be able to finish your work sooner which means you'll be able to turn the computer off sooner.
For the reasons above I conclude that SSD are directly related to the number of pirates in the world, and thus have a huge effect on global warming.

Hairs are rich? And to think, all these years I've been walking out of my barber's shop leaving the cuts on the floor.
