Yeah, and you probably still WIPE YOUR ASS with a rock too, GET WITH THE TIMES and put your solder gun away, step away from the PRIMITIVE communications devices, and get E-Mail, VOIP, SMS, Video-conferencing, or even a FREAKING PHONE... WWII is over, so put the HAM away... The movie "FREQUENCY" was MADE UP....
"KHARMA, I don't need no FREAKIN' KHARMA!"
I don't know, but I bet that his BROADBAND kicks ass, mister HAM lover, I'm SURE that VOIP will get "free" calls a lot farther than that dipshit HAM antenna you gotz...
FTTH is a more likely competitor to DSL/Cable, I doubt that powerlines can crank out enough bandwidth to compete, once FTTH and Cable crank out more bandwidth, (See DOCSIS 2.0 http://www.cedmagazine.com/ced/2002/0602/06wc.htm)
both DSL and Power lines will be out of the game.
Yeah, and they just flip a GIANT switch, and it works... you don't think that there are upgrades needed, and backhaul backbone costs, or any other sort of economics that will keep it out of rural areas??.. lets face it, if it isn't cost effective for them to build the system out to timbucktoo, it ain't gonna happen... just because there are power lines, doesn't mean that "poof", you've got broadband....
HAM operators can lick my balls, HAM sux, now give back the bandwidth for something useful, thats why america's wireless sux, morons take up useful bandwidth for absolute CRAP like HAM's.....
Right, but not on our shores.... see my point?? fight wars abroad so that it never does come home to you.... It is more likely that the earth will swallow my city whole than that we will EVER deal with any type of conflict here at home...
That list could be TWICE as long, just think about it, we haven't had a major conflict here since the civil war.... Thats a major feat if you think about it, is there a safer place to live??? I THINK NOT!! THANKS to the Pentagon, and ALL of our armed services... NOTHING BUT RESPECT AND THANKS from me..
How 'bout we make the damned PRO sports teams donate 50% of their takings/salaries to education. That industry is a big BLACK HOLE that needs to redirect funds back into everyday society, not create illiterate billionaires that shoot butlers and kill their wives and boyfriends...
So let me get this straight, ALL OF US will end up paying for the damned drunk drivers... Cars will definitely cost more, they will pass the cost on to consumers, not to mention the PAIN IN THE ASS of breathing into a damned tube 30 times a day. I for one think that there has to be a better solution to the problem. I thought that in this country you were innocent till proven guilty, not proving your innocence every 200 miles......
Telco's pay fees on each number that they "own". So when that number is ported, the fee goes to the new provider using that number. BY NO MEANS does an individual OWN his number, he owns a month to month "lease" on that number(willing to pay the fee), and can have that ported to a new carrier. If you don't beleive it, refuse to pay your bill for a few months, and see who ends up with "your" number.
What if instead of trying to get money involved, we get the "backbone" companies involved, (MCI, ATT, Level3, etc.) and had a centralized mail system, that each mail server would have to be registered with, and only registered servers could send mail. If there is evidence someone is spamming, they get the AXE, and can't send mail out to the public world
anymore. Instead of "blacklists", we need "whitelists", that way simply changing IP's or domainnames wouldn't bypass the filtering system.
Yeah, you know, the "caution, reading this from outside the space station amy cause you to implode." and the "Unleaded Fuel Only." and of course the "Oxygen in use, avoid all sparks or open flames." Oh, and the bumper sticker"My other shit can doesn't orbit."

I said CRAP LIKE HAM, there is so much bandwidth reserved for crap, look on the FCC site and see for yourself...
