Does anyone know what the results are of the pesky problems they were having with onboard instruments duplicating the very readings they were trying to measure?

I'm thinking this mission is going to have serious problems. Some of which they already know about, but are unable to correct in time before the launch.
Due to the momentum of politics no doubt.

Guess it will be a measure of mass in the end anyway. Just not the kind we should be getting for the price tag.

I will admit I'm not speaking from any great experience on Java, that being said...

For those curious on how to disable Java:
    In IE, Goto:
Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level
    Under:
    Microsoft VM,Java Permissions
    Select: "Disable Java"
    Under:
    Scripting, Scripting of Java applets
    Select: "Disable"

It works for me, no Java runs unless I add a trusted site.

    To answer your question:

Here is a URL about Malicious Java Applets which can operate outside the bounds set by the sandbox.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp x?scid=htt p://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/q 240/3/46.asp&NoWebContent=1

Here is a URL for other disable options:
    http://www.lithosjigs.com/cart/enablejav a.html

Here is a URL from CERT
    http://www.cert.org/tech_tips/malicious_code _FAQ.h tml

Granted this seems to only affect older browsers, its still safer to conclude that newer browsers may have a yet undiscovered flaw.

    Scripting permissions make me nervous.
In an time where the Internet is choked full of Trojans and Viruses, its better to be safe than sorry.

    Thus, no Java thanks!
