Approaching half a trillion tons of ice *per year* being melted seems an astounding amount.
Airlines hire people *just* to make sure that the paperwork is always updated. For every flight book, which is different for every single plane. Now only a few people have to make sure the pdfs are up to date.
That's a significant additional savings on top of the fuel savings.
I was at a friend's house. Put it on front & back porches. Called another friend to come over. End result - high heart rate for friend and purple shorts.

People, and especially politicians, are afraid of change.
