"Ocean acidification Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by about 30 percent. This increase is the result of humans emitting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and hence more being absorbed into the oceans. The amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by the upper layer of the oceans is increasing by about 2 billion tons per year."
But this seems the worst info to me: http://climate.nasa.gov/vital-... "Data from NASA's Grace satellites show that the land ice sheets in both Antarctica and Greenland are losing mass. The continent of Antarctica has been losing about 147 billion metric tons of ice per year since 2003, while the Greenland ice sheet has been losing an estimated 258 billion metric tons per year. "
Approaching half a trillion tons of ice *per year* being melted seems an astounding amount.
Airlines hire people *just* to make sure that the paperwork is always updated. For every flight book, which is different for every single plane. Now only a few people have to make sure the pdfs are up to date.
That's a significant additional savings on top of the fuel savings.
I was at a friend's house. Put it on front & back porches. Called another friend to come over. End result - high heart rate for friend and purple shorts.
No idea. My guess would be to have developer jobs.
Seems like synchronizing the iBooks app for everyone would work perfectly.
LOFL.
I do not see compelling evidence that slashing CO2 is a good course
The ocean hates you.

I think you picked #2.

The problem?
People, and especially politicians, are afraid of change.
Remember when the 'odd' kid got picked on in elementary/middle/high school, even though they were often smarter/more creative? Just like that.

x number of copies per plane
x number of flights per plane
x number of planes
= >$1,000,000 in savings
And how exactly would that solve this problem? The one of not having the flight book *in the plane*?
According to *just* American Airlines, eFlight books save $1.2 million per year.

eFlight books were switched to to save millions of dollars in fuel costs every year. They're that heavy.
That explains the teeth...
Somebody should tell him...
I need capacity far more than I need speed.
Your needs are not their target. They target high IOPs environments, like VMware host caching, database transaction tables, etc.
Go buy 10k/15k drives if you want capacity over speed, but with some speed.

If they have proof he hacked into the avionics via the inflight WiFi, the aircraft equipment companies should be in HUGE trouble.
No, that's kind of the point of his joke.
Well, that and the level of stupidity it takes to believe something like that.
Ammonia & iodine together make a low-order explosive. And color you purple. Fun trick to play on your friends.
Outside of child-molester type people, is there ever a 'fortunate' Segway-induced cliff fall?
And the water will always be bathwater warm!
Going to? Haven't we been hoping for that since ancient tyrants in the 3-5000BC era were around?
To the Oort we go!
They already have a 5k iMac...
You do what you want, I'll do what I want.
You'll probably make more money from the script. I'll probably make more money from the robbery.
"Where's Dewey?"
A smart bank robber would do it 3 or 4 times. Perhaps once while they're inside the bank.
Keep them really busy running all over town.
Maybe even have a small smoke bomb go off somewhere.
