Except that 99% of the different distributions are just rebranding of the same programs. And all of them run the (mostly) same kernel. In a pure linux world, the same problems would exist.
Not to mention testing the patches, and making sure they don't break your mission critical apps. Telling the bossman/customer "Its Microsoft's fault!" when something goes wrong isn't really acceptable.
Fail? I don't think any of the things you just said are true. While I'm no gnome fanboy its painfully obvious that anybody with an IQ slightly greater than a hammer can figure this stuff out.
Protip: "I can't" != "Gnome can't"
I imagine the future of gaming to be in two technologies. Virtual Machines, and Live CDs.
You put your game on a live CD with an environment that is tailored just for the game, turning your PC into a game console of sorts, Or if you are not worried about shaving off every last CPU cycle, fire the CD up in a VM.
Your copy of windows includes the nvidia 3d drivers?! Either A) your a troll or B) or an idiot.
Windows and Linux both require you to manually install a proprietary 3d driver.
Wow, that whole idea sounds amazing, except that its almost exactly like what the U.S.A. was designed to be. Each state being its own nation unto itself, with the central government only there to prevent trade disputes and provide a method of defense from foreign invaders. Abe Lincoln put the nail in that coffin though.
Yeah, i can't really fathom why one would need a livecd for BSD other than ease of install... Unless they are gunning for desktop use, which BSD isn't exactly famous for, unless you count OS X (which I don't).
Correlation != causation. Anybody with half a brain can see that the internet is filled to the gills with idiocy. In fact, i venture to say that its imposable to meet somebody as asinine in real life as somebody on a web forum.
There is a similar situation with the power cabling in our city as well. In fact, a number of years back they were courted by a few smaller telecoms to allow them to use some of said fiber, but were denied.
Traffic costs the ISP money. They have interest in shutting a misbehaving client down. If not there's still the option of legislation. HAHAHAHAHAHA
certainly its cheaper to have the users get angry, close their accounts and take it their business to a company that/doesn't/ care.
wrong.

BSD? Whats that, some type of lunix?
'Cuz when he said "when they already have a working computer is a mystery to me" obviously he meant "when your computer doesn't work"... amirite?
Why is this modded down? Douglas Adams isn't even respected in here anymore?
