I'll say it; even the "sacred" budgets of the DoD, DHS, and the Intelligence Agencies need to be cut. There's only one presidential candidate that's serious about that - Ron Paul.
Yes, I was referring to the quality of its products and the trustworthiness of the brand. I think that Sony started losing its way when it started making gaming consoles and then getting even involved with software and media. Quality control is a well known process in hardware manufacturing, including the critical portion of measuring defects; for software it's more time consuming and for media it's impossible. After all, how do you evaluate a movie as a product while it's being made?
I'm considering starting a business; one of its cardinal rules will be "We don't do business with China." I'll blackhole/block every prefix for that country (and several others) at our external firewall and router.
Utter nonsense. When I need an obscure part for a broken appliance, I will not be asking my facebook friends. I will always use Google (or other search engine). It is just too instantaneous to ignore.
One day in the near future there will be a web site where you can find a plan for that broken part and then hit the "make this" button. Of course, there's a real chance that the abuses of "Intellectual Property" (gasp!) will prevent this from ever happening.
I can see using FB when you're looking for a service provider such as a Realtor, Contractor, Doctor, etc. since those kinds of businesses are built on reputation. I don't see where it's useful in comparing products, since they are measured and reviewed on different web sites. Then again, your friends may have a LOT of stuff.
They did search. And paid the company for use of the name. The Chinese company seems to be trying to double dip.
They'll get away with it too. China has a policy of screwing every foreign company they can. Suck it up Apple; you want to exploit Chinese workers, then expect to get exploited by their government!
I wished him luck with that as fresh worked so very well for them before. A few weeks later the hiring manager ended his gym membership as his company was going out of business despite the 'fresh' management.
See, the market works! Yes, I'm being facetious, but only partially. The "hand of the free market" bitch slapped that company because of its incompetent management. Unfortunately, people got hurt in the process.
How about a checklist? That's what we used when I was in the Army, and it always worked. When we finished a maintenance activity, I verified that every tool that was supposed to be in a particular toolbox was back in it.
I see you used the plural form of "parents". This was once the norm, but that was destroyed by big media (who shaped expectations and opinions), big government (who decided that welfare programs should reward irresponsible breeding), and the religious establishment (who decided that they really just want the collection plate filled).
Worries me, that so many think that being frisked is sex. I mean, what if they're right? Since I only get frisked by male TSA agents, does that mean that I'm gay?

You work for either Mitre or Booz Allen. They both spew tons of BS like that but can't connect two cans and a string.
You're not put on trial for war crimes unless you lose your war. It's one of the unwritten rules of diplomacy, like the flag rule.

After they rid themselves of tyrants they'll still be enslaved by priests.
Samsung is the new Sony. Now Sony's going to try the same thing as everyone else.

Everywhere is beautiful and friendly when you're very rich.
Kofi Annan was in that? Wow, the things I learn from the Internets.

They've done that; now they are after Germany with the whole "Eurobond" BS.

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
The funniest part of that post is that it's modded 2 - informative currently.
They must have cloaked it!

Posted by an AC no less! OK, what have you done with the real Slashdot?

Simple, it's because they don't care how much it costs someone else.
Which country was this? I'm interested in working there.
If he would veto every inane bill that Congress passes during his term, I'd vote for him in 2012 and 2016. Only a handful would get the override.
Agent Mulder, is that you?

Only if you liked it.
