I subscribe to the top level support package - and I have to say it's the best tech support I've ever experienced bar none.
You get direct phone/email access to the guys who develop it with 30mins response! They are not monkeys!
well - interesting news. i have an existing support contract and they answered my support request today. having said that, i've never had a support issue with (the excellent) mysql support guys that was at all related to the OS.
fyi: if you run anything like a large site (we sustain 4000qps most of the day), i would highly recommend a support contract with them. it's very cheap for 24/7/365 access to the devs.
However the National Program for IT or NPfIT covers 5 local service providers (NW, E, NE, S and London, and a central spine). These regions are only in England, not the whole UK.
The team at Manchester have also developed an Async bus to link Synchronous IP blocks with different timing constraints together on a single chip more easily.
If you want to know more about this you can attend
CS3212 Asynchronous System Design at Manchester University.
I did last year, and it was pretty hard:)
I suppose the thing about CAT scans is you do one, look at it straight away, and if you see a massive tumour, you know there's something wrong.
If it gets lost at some time in the future, well, it wasn't current data anyway, they'd probably be much better taking another one to see how you are progressing...?
"Equivalent to 17-inch SVGA display at arm's length Nomad provides the same full-screen resolution as an SVGA desktop monitor. Most handheld devices display only quarterscreen resolution. Scrolling is virtually unnecessary."
So presumably around 1024x768 pixels...
And the colour depth:
"Monochrome red display Nomad's bright-red display provides high contrast
between the display information and virtually any
background view.
32 grey levels Nomad can display text, graphics, halftones or
video in any combination with excellent
readability."
The thing the surprised me was the price, only $3995, which seems pretty cheap, to be turned into a terminator....
I'm reminded of the bit where Arnie scans the dresscode in the bar, and the HUD flashes up 'Inappropriate' at one point...
Well he said it was an Intel onboard one - ie. not actually a card itself;)
I presume if it's recent it'll be the i810_audio driver then. Probably didn't add himself to the audio group or something - but we'll never know since over three pages he doesn't manage to describe the problem in any detail or provide much of a hint as to the exact chipset we're working with...
oh come on, you'd rather have the 500HP 9620 Deere than the 95HP 6003 series surely!
i'm not sure what 500 horsepower is in chickens, but it's a lot...
So... how is being able to view the source files of open source projects insecure?

This SQL wouldn't work, cause you need to specify what you're selecting, unlike with a DELETE clause.
SELECT * FROM.... etc.
Maybe he does have a sense of humour?
Well, consider the fact that they carried on running the plant for about 10 more years after the explosion since Ukraine didn't have enough generating capacity to shut it down!
PHP outputs whatever you tell it to. Not webpages. Unless you, er, tell it to.
I use it to send SMS messages from the cli in a cron job. Easy to write, and a lot of decent libraries.
I have to agree and say that latest debian-installer had some cryptic questions about my (shock horror) Microsoft USB Intellimouse. Required me to load the usb module manually etc as I recall. I didn't find the partitioning any harder than any other distro unlike most people in this thread... but you do need some knowledge of the directory structure I suppose.
My final gripe would be that although my Geforce Ti4200 autodetected ok, my housemate's RADEON 7800 didn't, and er, I still haven't got it to work by specifying the radeon driver manually.
Debian rocks though, and is well worth installing. If you run sarge or sid, not everything is really old too!
RAM apart from SONY Memory Stick PRO that is. I recently bought a 256Mb stick and was horrified to discover around 30Mb is used for 'management information' so I can only use ~220Mb !
In the post-apocalypic world of Mad Max 2, perhaps something like what the US has planned, Mel Gibson does indeed eat dog food out of a tin. Then the dog gets a go. Then the gyro-captain.
They all seem to have better cars than us though... so...

650 euros! You wanna check how much uni costs in the states...

Well, the coal fired power station down the road from me (Fiddlers Ferry, Widnes, UK) has 4x units which produce 500MW each.
That said, it's not very sunny over here.

Well if you retreive the password hash from an NT box, you can lookup the password with this database. However there are ways of securing this now.

The point he was trying to make is that... it isn't a UNIX derivative. Although I do believe you have to type sometimes...

they'd only just arrived so presumably they were just messing about with all the controls... and... "ah s***".... is that what you'd be doing?!

I imagine this is a solved problem for them, considering their existing clusters.
well, since the story, our adsl service from the longsight exchange has just come back!

I thought the bad president was George W Bush?!
1988 Ford Escort - 1.6 Diesel (non-turbo)
250k miles.
Never misses a beat...

I think the linksys is more hackable because it runs linux, and the netgear which I have at least, doesn't.
