No, it wont be the first OS to support it out of the box. HP has already been doing this with windows and their security tools.

And if you're going to say "but windows doesn't really do it by itself out of the box," then be fair - linux doesn't either. Linux does almost nothing out of the box, and everything it does do is an add on.

I ordered the IDE belt about 3 weeks ago, and infally got it the other day (same day shipping = 2 1/2 week wait?!). It's pretty cool, but I don't think it functions that well as a belt. It needs to be like 10 IDE cables glued together or something.

As for your iPod, turn it into a belt buckle!

    Q. What if I no longer have a receipt or any other supporting documentation?

    A. You must produce a receipt or other supporting documentation evidencing the purchase of an eligible 75GXP hard disk drive, or you will not receive any Settlement Benefits.

Well let's see. I bought my deskstar in 2000, let me grab my file for that year... Ah yes, it's here under D, next to the receipt for that donut I bought.

Seriously I will be impressed if anyone can provide the required "supporting documentation." How lame is it to win a lawsuit that will apply to almost nobody?

Crappy thing is, I seriously have a stack of these deskstars sitting here. My last one went bad not even two weeks ago.

I had to flash my bios and didn't have any floppy disks. So here I am at the store at 2am buying a package of ten floppy disks (of which I will use only 1) for $10 - more expensive then cds I could have burned the image onto.

Anyway, I got home only to realize the computer didn't even have a floppy drive. Throw me a freakin' bone here.

It's not the way p2p networks are set up that makes people want to use them, it's the fact that they can get free music. Putting an online store into the format of a p2p network doesn't make it cool, because it negates the point or reason that people use p2p. Wow, now I can get crappy speeds AND I get to pay for it!

  11. gee golly wilikers! on RIAA Supporting Commercial P2P · · Score: 1
Hopefully internet companies will follow suit with this new business model. You get your own backbone connection to the internet, and then they just charge you for the right to get bills from them. I could see a benefit for gas companies too - you provide your own gas, but you pay them to let you look good standing by their pump.

This is seriously retarded. Wow, I get to pay for music and I get to act as their server! Whats to keep someone from switching songs around and ending up charging people for the wrong song?
