I'll leave you to find the irony in that.

  2. What were they really monitoring? on Teen Plays Videogame With Brain Signals · · Score: 1

Looked to me from the video in TFA he still had to use his hand as if he was using a keyboard. Were they monitoring anything more than motor control?

  3. More Ammo on Brian Hook on the ActiveX Experience · · Score: 5, Interesting

That is, more ammo to use when telling people to get off of MSIE. The prospect of having a webpage completely wipe their hard drives clean is something that should scare even the most lackidaisical of users.

  4. Re:Half Life on Too Much Gaming, Anyone? · · Score: 1

Yesterday on a longish road trip, I saw a huge flock of black birds suddenly scatter from their perch on a peculiar building... sadly for a second I thought I was re-experiencing the scene where the scanners pour out of the Citadel by the millions...

Unfortunately, there are those that use usually competent companies that insist on doing refunds through PayPal when they misbill through other billing services... making the customer a complete victim and out however much they are owed - and you'd better believe the company isn't going to refund the money out again.

Just a bit verbose, eh? Wouldn't Digitally Available Artists' Union function just as well?

  9. Re:Good to know... on Open Source Firm Releases Patch for IE Bug [UPDATED] · · Score: 1

Call me naive, I hadn't thought of that when I posted. I figured if they were releasing the source, they wouldn't try to pull anything funny. Guess I was wrong. That's what I get for assuming people will try to beat the problem for the sake of beating the problem and no more.

  10. Good to know... on Open Source Firm Releases Patch for IE Bug [UPDATED] · · Score: 4, Interesting

Good to know that while Microsoft is leaving its users hanging out to dry patch-wise, the community still cares enough to fix the problems. Who knows -- maybe we'll see more effective (i.e., fixing more problems than they cause) patches from here forward.

  11. Re:Damaging to the machines? on Doomsday PC-Cooling With Dual-Cascade Coolers · · Score: 1

I would expect that point to be closer to -100 than -250, since absolute zero is only 23.15 degrees C lower...
