I've got three Linksys WAP11s, two of which are positioned within 1 metre or so of the base station of my 2.4GHz phone. I've never observed any kind of interference, Airport monitor on my PowerBook says the signal to noise ratio stays the same with or without the phone, even if I make or receive a call.
I do use Salling Clicker with my T610 and can confirm that it is excellent. I also find it nice to use as a remote when I use my PowerBook as a DVD player or for interacting with iTunes.
I know exactly what you mean, most webmail interfaces compare very unfavourably to my preferred email client (Mail.app).
However, if it's done properly I think it could work. Have you used the web interface for MS Exchange? At a glance you wouldn't know it wasn't a 'real' mail client.
Try calling Piers Morgan's press office at 4:00am. I bet your friend James won't appreciate you calling him when he's just sat down to dinner. The Library is a very poor information source when it's closed.
Google would beat any of those methods 'out of hours'.
I thought for a moment that the enhancements like the lossless encoder would only be available on the latest iPods. However, looking at Apple's site it seems all iPods will be updated. Guess I'll just have to wait and see when I get home.
I've got the ME102 also, which I've had good luck with. If you still have it, try giving this utility a go. It lets you adjust way more stuff than netgear's utility - which i agree is poor. Another useful feature is that you can adjust the strength of the signal output, which netgear don't set to the highest setting.
I've not really checked out the AEBS, but maybe I will if I ever need 11g.
I'll admit that wireless stuff is not great on the PC, and Windows' support for wireless is frankly abysmal, but why knock netgear stuff?
I've set up several Netgear APs, Wireless routers and what have you. I found them to be dead simple to set up and secure and they perform nicely. What's so great about the AEBS? Why is it so expensive? Am I missing out?
Big improvement on my 12" PB. Good thing too, it was getting really hard to pick up the neighbours' cable connection. I was about to ask them to move their AP a bit nearer.
In the case of all the firmware updates I've done, like the superdrive or bluetooth mouse, software update has just downloaded a program to/Applications/Utilities for you to run later rather than updating straight away. With the 3.4.1 update, no such program is downloaded. Perhaps it's reasonable to assume no firmware is altered?
Don't be mislead by just because it's a Microsoft product - PocketPCs work well with Macs.
I'm using an HP iPAQ 2210 with my PowerBook right now, and it syncs very well through iSync thanks to the addition of some software from mark/space. It even allows you to mount the PocketPC's storage devices as volumes on your Desktop in OS X, which I don't think you can do in Windows.
It's a shame that Palm has snubbed Mac users. Still, I expect that Mark/Space will release a version of the missing sync or maybe iSync will be improved to work with PalmOS devices on it's own.
"Disclaimer: I am not a Linux 'zealot'; I use an Apple Macintosh running Mac OS X.
I was disappointed when I read the article by Steven Evans about the MyDoom virus, or 'worm' to use the correct term, which was linked to from the front page of the BBC News Web site.
It is not fair to blame the Open Source community for the MyDoom worm's DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack when there is no evidence to this end other than rampant hearsay, conjecture and speculation on the Internet.
Why is it so 'easy to fathom' the motivation of the author of this virus? The Open Source community at large and proponents like Bruce Perens have condemned the DDoS attacks. Mr. Evans conveniently omitted to report that there are in fact TWO variants of MyDoom, only ONE of which is participating the SCO DDoS attack, the other is attacking Microsoft. There are many explanations why this worm could have been written, from a technical point of view, the most likely is that it was written by spammers to send spam, since it is a branch of the 'Mimail' worm's code. Mimail was/is used by Russian spammers to send unsolicited commercial email (illegally) through infected computers. MyDoom installs a 'backdoor' and enables routing of Internet connections through infected computers in order to mask the identity of the originator. This is exactly what spammers need and it would be pointless hard work to add this code if the objective of the worm was simply to DDoS SCO. The DDoS could just as easily be an afterthought or even a diversion. Mr. Evans does not allude to this equally plausible possibility.
There are plenty of reasons for everybody to dislike SCO's business practices. I respectfully suggest that in future, Mr. Evans should restrict himself to reporting facts, rather than being at best conduit for internet gossip to flow through and at worst, a mouthpiece for SCO's barratry."
You don't have to wait for Apple, there's a packaged version, runs alongside 1.3. I tried it for a bit, but I didn't find any advantages over 1.3 for my purposes (mostly just PHP).
Was it the upper-left or upper-right pixel? Brings back 3.11 memories.

Sounds just like an OS X update :)

"This all is a bit unrelevant..."
"Me fail English? That's unpossible!"

Why should Apple take exploits in OS X seriously? Isn't it true that vulnerabilities are never exploited until a patch is available?
Yup, I submitted that story yesterday (when it happened). It was rejected.
Coca cola plant, Delta hub.. oh Atlantis, right.

Hi, you must be new here.

Sounds like a pretty bad experience.

iSync requires Palm's 'Palm Desktop' software to be installed before it can sync with PalmOS devices

D'oh my bad, I just RTFA. It's not been a good day!
iTunes 4.2 isn't showing up in software update for me. I wonder if it's only available in the US, since it's a music store update?
