    that's because if you design steel so it never reaches stresses of about one half of it's yield strength it will not fatigue (endurance limit)

    most Al alloys have no endurance limit and thus will always eventually (maybe in 1 min or 10000 years) fail by fatigue if they do not fail some other way first

    differential locks can put more stress on a rear due to the fact that no two wheels are going to turn at the same exact speed (more tread on one wheel, turning, etc) braking an individual tire puts less stress on the rear, but more on the brakes and robs some power. but i'd agree that they are helpful. nothing worse than a wheel slipping and no way to get the others to turn. but that doesn't mean that they don't stress certain parts

    he adresses this in the article for the gravity rules there are two criteria 1. orbits the sun (or star for another system) 2. is above some critical mass (large enough to become rounded by its own mass, which is only a few hundred kilometers in diameter) and yes this includes some asteroids

    does open office have anything like an equation editer in ms office? just curious also, one of excels big drawbacks is that it'd be nice if it had a numerical integration feature such as cubic splines.
