BYOS+BYOB is perfection. Following your price matrix, subtract the popcorn and add a half pint bottle of Wild Turkey (80 proof is my preference, smooth and mellow, but preserves most of the similar untamed character of the 101) in a jacket or shirt pocket. As soon as the lights dim, drink down to where the label just starts on the side of the bottle, or about 20%, and pour in the Turkey. Even below average movies become easily endurable.

If you're planning on using it with Windows, don't worry. That should be about the time Apple straightens the iTunes code out to make it actually usable. After the six hours I spent with my IPS (the gleeful name we have given the Shuffle on the Apple support boards) last night I'm deeply filled with a great Fear and Loathing of ACI.
"The best plan, I think, is to step onto an orthogonal vector."
If a high school student actually understands that statement it's pretty doubtful that they need to read that piece or need much academic direction at all.
"Sixteen electronic computerized sensors embedded in the gun's grip distinguished known from unknown users. "We've only just begun and we're pleased to say that we're getting 90 percent reliability when scanning users," said Sebastian."
So either 1 in 10 times or 1 in 10 users can forget it. Sorry, but when you need a firearm in an emergency situation, the odds are going to have to be much, much better than that.
Chicago Browns? That IS bad. I think you mean Chicago Bears or Cleveland Browns, both of which fans' are fueled by the lukewarm fires of past glories hesitant to return.
Something that's really struck a nerve with us is the explosively popular 50cc motorcycles (ex. The Honda CR50 )
that you can rent similar to go-karts and race around a closed short track. They are fast enought to be fun and provide a little competition, but not so fast as to be seriously dangerous or scary. Not only can you physically blow of some steam, but it's always something that produces a ton of laughs and is an instantly casualizing experience. The place where we do it (grrrr, no website) rents the bikes and all the necessary equipment at a nicely discounted corporate rate, and offers a spacious picnic area for non-riders to socialize and everybody to congregate afterwards. Those who don't ride take digital pictures which we can laugh about during the week and give each other funny nicknames and stuff based on what happened. As well as it's gelled our group, it may be worth a try.
And the spilt ink story had little to do with my rebuttal of the usual Slashdot anti-union Randroidism, and I was trying to move the discussion more back to the primary subject at hand.
I once remember working in a non-union metal shop, running a grinding machine until my left hand no longer has sensation of any kind, and the company refusing my workman's comp claims. Which is worse?
And of course on Slashdot, it's always those evil, awful old unions' faults. The Big Three in Detroit agreed to and signed off on every letter of those contracts, so wouldn't that make the management at least one half responsible for this supposed "audacious slacking"?
Ted's not nearly as right-wing as you'd think. He's been a long time champion of the UN, an unequaled critic of organized religion, particularly Christianity, and was married to the one of all-time most hated leftoids ever, "Hanoi" Jane Fonda. Check out his Official Site for his beliefs on a myriad of issues that are definitely not the Republican Party Line.
Sad to say it, but he is my representative down here in southeastern Tennessee. Here's his Campaign Website and by looking at the issues, you can see he's on the far right of the party, and his voting generally controlled by the Tom Delay contigent. Funny he mentions stomping out drugs, since he was once a rapacious cocaine user. In grand Republican tradition though, he found Jeeezus and now supports the brutalization of drug offenders everywhere. I wish I could say this ridiculous vote and flip flop were a surprise, but we've been living with this garbage since '94.
According to this usually reliable site, Motorcycle USA pre mods he can depend on around 120 hp, which translates to at the least 140MPH on the street.

It's not that we give them unnecessary respect, it's that the mainstream press and PHB's do, which certainly can't be said of Slashdot.
As a counterpoint though, the US education system does exactly what the powers that be need it to do by turning out unquestioning conformists that can be easily placed into low-tech, low-wage positions with a minimal amount of uproar.

The 2nd Edition was a real golden era for campaign settings though, as they switched off the single books for a campaign and went to the box sets which generally had a DM's book, a player's guide book, cardboard bunchouts, maps, and occasionally special items, for example Ravenloft had fortune telling cards. That was a value that was hard to beat.
Also it was when they had the MOST campaing settings as well, including a healthy Greyhawk, Dark Sun and the tripped-out hallucination known as Spelljammer.
All were so well written that I purchased everyone of them just to read, and would take characters in between worlds frequently to really enjoy the full universe TSR had given me at $20 a box. You just don't see that kind of depth or variety in the campaign material anymore.

I've not seen it.
Those aren't bad from a skillset standpoint, but you should probably work in at least one 3 hour technical writing course, and maybe another one concerning the basics or principles of how the IT business works. Weekly, I see brilliant engineer/admin types crash and burn because they cannot adequately express themselves and sell management on why a project failed, why it is necessary to pursue a project, who should get the credit for something actually working, etc.

Unionize and adopt a more preferable performance review structure as part of your bargained contract. It'll work wonders.
