Pressure is relative, your lungs dont collapse even at 3k feet while diving , (nor would they at 100k, why ? The pressure is relative , thats why you need to "decompress" when surfacing, think of a pop bottle, its under pressure, do you see bubbles ? not , but off with the top and bam, fizz (and if youre a person a dirt nap)

The problems become gaseous toxicity at depth for land based animals, pure o2 befomens fatal at 1 atmosphere (14.7 psi or 33 ft) Standard air at 297 feet, (or when the partial pressure of o2 reaches 1 Atm)
For marine life there are some that are dependednt on that biological reaction of gases in hyperbaric enviroments

The actual pressure itself has NOTHING to do WHATSO FRICKING Ever on the physical well being of any animal.

And as far as the genius that said you dont even need a space suit, just a mask to cover your mucuous membranes, you sir are a moron. (remeber the pop bottle, be my guest , Walking out an air lock ond you might even POP, dont forget explosive decompression occurs at more than 10k per minute.

My mothers house has 2 ammonia Air Conditioning units built in the mid to late 40's they were "Overage" for a bank and made their way into my grandfathers new home, since it is a hot water heated house its great, let me tell you these things will even chill the upstairs of the house , at 2000 ish square feet to push cold up is not a bad trick, the volume they output is the key.

The funny part ? They still work flawlessly, and have not been serviced since at least 1977 ( In know this for a fact as thats when my grandad passed away)

Their electric consumption is actually minimal, running both all month equates to about a 60$ electricity increase. Unreal if you ask me, I kept thinking we were on an electric budget the first summer I fired em up in 20 years as it was way to hot for my grandma without air so I told her I would cover the bill. it never went up....

The beauty is these units will spill the ammonia outsie through the exhaust should the coils ever rupture (I doubt it since they are about 1/8 in thick copper :) Designed well, and built like German tanks...

Linux doent need Business, Business NEEDs Linux

Is the best way to paraphrase it...Oh heelll..Here ...

Defending the GPL Sunday, August 07 2005 @ 07:26 AM EDT I heartily recommend that you read Eric Laffoon's article in Open for Business. If it were allowed, I'd put every word of it here on Groklaw. Laffoon is the project lead for KDE's Kdewebdev module. It's the best answer I've seen to anyone who claims we need to ditch the GPL to ensure business uptake or that we don't need the GPL any more. "Is commercial software the salvation of Linux?" he asks. I'll answer that. Linux doesn't need business. It has an independent life and will take over no matter what. It's businesses that need Linux, not the other way around. Here are just two paragraphs from the article: To me FOSS as Richard Stallman has set in motion with the GNU GPL is about the greater good of humanity as opposed to the selfish greed of a few people. The GPL has insured the freedom of users while showing that the closed development model has real flaws. Let's not lose site of what's important. Our community provides the moral center at probably the most pivitol point in history. 500 years ago the printing press ended the dark ages with an unprecedented sharing of ideas. The internet offers dramatically more potential. Thankfully Microsoft was late to the party and FOSS was there to prevent them getting dominant control of the new international currency, information access. The battle for the freedom of access for us and our children is not over. We need to cooperate to insure the enemies of freedom don't overcome us, not attack those who should be our allies. Wars have been lost over just such foolishness.

In otherwords Screw the people who are "Demainding" blah blah blah, its THEIR duty to conform if THEY want to use linux , not OUR duty to make sure OUR Linux conforms to THEIR needs...
