Because in the US, calling someone liberal is actually an insult for some reason which I don't understand. The only options in an electiono are right wing, or more right wing. There's no party that's really middle of the road.

And while Dubya says he's a small c conersvative, he's actually more left wing than any other president. Sure he cuts taxes and believes in prayer in school, but his administration is protectionist, and it wants to control everything in the name of security. A right wing government would vehemently oppose protectionism.

I guess Apple will get all of the business. This is the same thing they've done with copyright law.

Isn't it anti-competitive behaviour to collude? A group of recording companies getting together and deciding where to sell their music because of the price - that's pretty damned near collusion.

    1. No chatty teenagers around me

    3. Way more leg room
    4. Popcorn: 50 cents a bag instead of $5, and I already have real butter
    5. Pause and playback

    7. Movie Rental: $5, me and wife and friends can all watch for same price.
    8. Can fast forward over 25 minutes of movie trailers.

With all the plusses, what's the minus? I don't get the movie theatre experience? Big deal. I can live with that, given all the other bonuses I get.

Still, I'll probably go see X-Men 3 this year, and Spider-Man 3 next year because they are still worth going out for.

'Windows' is another case where the trademark should not have been granted. Same with 'word'.

Why not? Windows, within the confines of computer applications, is a valid trade mark. No other product can be named windows within the operating system world. No BeOS Windows and no Mac OS Windows. Anything wrong with that?

Conversely, Microsoft Word, as a computer program has every right to have a trademark on it. No other computer program should be called Word.

That doesn't mean Microsoft owns said trademark outside that world.

For example, here in Vancouver, we have a company called Allied Windows that manufactures windows. Allied Windows will not benefit or be hurt by the success of Microsoft Windows.

Now Lindows OTOH, was obviously riding on the coat-tails of Windows, and Microsoft was in their right to enforce their trade mark.

Partially. The OP is guilty of false analogy. A better analogy would be if you were to point at the movie industry instead, who regulary puts out movies of questionable taste. I'm not taking a side here - the game Bully is probably as irresponsible as Postal 2, but in the end, it's the parents of the child who bullies, and the bullies themselves who are to blame, not some silly video game.
