TeamFortress - My progression from capture the flag to teamfortress was the hand of something greater that changed my life. I wasted the best hours of my life away on this game. Probably the reason I didn't have sex until after high school. Also the reason for my good ACT's, and 2.666 GPA. I saw the TeamFortress 2 trailer the other day, and I got a proud father moment. I seriously got a little teary-eyed and said, "Ahh, my boys all grown up." I will always remember those nights of 300 ping and learning to lead for lag. I still remember the envy of those with high speed cable, and those at college. Probably one of the primary reasons I went to college. Low Ping. Faxanadu - I have no idea why I always come back to this game. My brother rented it so many years ago, and admittedly... I didn't get to play it much that weekend. But no other game has had me download emulators for it... track down roms through porno popup infested roms sites... and spent as many hours playing around with winged boots. I've still never beat it, and really wish that there was a way that I could at least see the end of the game... Heroes of the might and magic 2&3 - I only listed both of them because the second doesn't really run within windows xp. I remember playing this for hours on end, and in fact my roomie and I still play the third in late night sessions every couple of months. I will play this game for three days straight, and then remember every reason I hate it and gave it up. Then I give it a couple of months. Privateer 2. I remember my cousin chris playing this and thinking it was the coolest game ever. My first introduction to a game that was open ended. I remember him buying and trading things, and traveling to jump points... and thinking, "This is what Wing Commander should have been." X-Wing, Tie Fighter, - Both of these games had me in a galaxy far far away. I remember the insanely hard missions, and how much fun they were. It was my chance to make the death star run, and I enjoyed it way too much. I'm very grateful for these games, and if the creators ever read this page, I would like to personally thank you for the great memories. -Thank You.

I work in the IT field traveling to customer's houses.
I see all sorts of jacked up computers.. Here's the usual rundown of things that I keep on my drive.

Google Pack Installer - (three free months norton good for getting rid of virsues.)
Norton Intelligent Updater - Used to update defintions for every version of norton. Google it and grab the x86 version(the second on the page.)
Trend Micro Pattern Files - Same thing for Trend Micro, google it.
AVG Free - Something more permanent for cheap bastards.
    Spybot and includes files.
    Adaware personal and include files.
Ewido - I love you ewido, too bad you run really crappy in safe mode.

Dial-A-Fix - Reregisters dll files neccessary to components like windows update and SSL security. Fixes all sorts of permissions things jacked up by spyware as well. This is an amazing tool, google it and be amazed.

MS Scripting Engine 5.6 - This solves a lot of problems you will have with programs having blank screens, or if system restore is a blank screen, or windows update is blank as well.

XP Winsock Fix - Explicit^Software wrote this great vb script to reset the TCP/IP and WINSOCK stack to default settings. Useful if the internet isn't working, commonly associated with the nasty spyware.

    Firefox - Nuff Said.

Drivers - I collect the drivers I need for the things I run into. The biggest collection are HP printer drivers, and linksys drivers for PCI cards and USB drivers.

Hijack This - Merjin software's great tool to give you the rundown on what's running on your computer. You really have to know what your doing with this tool though.

My Music - All my music that I tend to listen to.

Norton Ghost - I keep the install files for my copy of Norton Ghost on my drive, makes moving or replacing drives a snap.

    MemTest ISO - Memory Tester.

DFT ISO - Drive fitness test for hard drives. If you know the brand of drive you are testing, use the tester from the manufacturer as they often print out RMA codes and have better tests for their drive. I've gotten free replacement drives this way from Maxtor and Seagate. Both companies which keep my business.

Linux Password Crack - Used to reset XP administrator logins for people that lock themselves out of their machine.

OpenOffice - I don't always have it on there, but good for people who need to do office stuff, and don't feel like being a pirate and recognize good stuff.

Linksys Firmware - Many linux firmware upgrade files for Linksys Routers and devices. WRT54g Versions 5 and 4 were buggy at times until you upgraded the firmware. Especially version 5. Sometimes the router was just plain defective.

SymNRT - Removes all versions of norton, there is also rnav2003 that removes below a certin point. Useful for when norton gets borked and ruins how the machine works.

Windows Updates - All critical sercurity patches, and a script that fires them off in proper order and silently.

SP2 - Big enough to list on it's own.

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility - Used to stop programs that constantly install themselves over and over and over and over and get really annoying.

There are many others, and I'm sure I've left out a few, but I think these will help everyone out.

I like the interview with Balmer saying that, "The Open Source community hasn't really provided that much innovation." Yeah, we only took your xbox and actually made it do things people would actually want to use it for.

If you look at the Xbox 360, it's actually just all the things that made a chipped xbox awesome, mixed with some better(we'll see) graphics. I'm sure all of this coolness will come at a more extreme cost as well.

It should be properly labeled as "Man busted for selling pirated Xbox software." if he had been selling Linux running xbox's with homebrew apps, it would have been a nonissue. As the slashdot commmunity, we do ourselves a disservice by labeling stories this way and spreading F.U.D. that would lead us to believe that chipping your box is illegal.
Next time excercise some editorial control and highlight the fact the man was selling Pirated Xbox software and that this was all part of a greater nonissue. You pirate software and sell it(Whether in Hard Drive or Disc Format) you are going to get the hammer. Guy got off amazingly light in the face of what he was doing.
