First, stop daddy from chugging vodka and beating the wife and kids in a drunken stupor. I'm sure that does a lot more damage than the occasional What-The-Fuck.
Make no mistake, China is a totalitarian Communist state, they will NEVER be our friends.
Perhaps not friends. But thanks to the NSA and their comrades, we appear to be doing our damnedest to catch up with them. Perhaps its like high school girls at the prom. They all compete to see who has the hottest dress and dish dirt on each other in the process.
McCarthyism ended when Joe went after members of the US Army. The general population doesn't have the clout to pressure the NSA into doing anything. But if they (the NSA) end up sniffing around in the private business of legislators, the FBI other gov't officials, that will end them.
The United States have some of the most convoluted tax, deduction and credit structures in the world. Its not so much that I have to pay them. Its that the person* next to me has his own personal deduction, carved out by some Senator in his pocket.
*By 'person', I include corporations. The tax code here looks askance at all of my deductible expenses while companies depreciate their hunting lodges and book their profits in Ireland. Why can't I have my employer direct deposit my paycheck to a Dublin bank?
Welcome to teh Internets. Custom software may very well be coming from Bangalore, India. Yeah, sure. The custom stuff represents additional labor to write, over and above the cost of an off the shelf package. But there is no guarantee that the state will see one cent from its production.
Back to the original question: If I commission the writing of a custom app in Massachusetts (from a local shop), what is the sales tax rate?
Evidently, you have more industrious postal workers than I do in my town. Here, all they do is borrow my copy of The Economist and read it in the can for a few days before putting it in my PO box.
The world is a dangerous place. You must protect your own children from those dangers while preparing them to deal with them as they attain independence. Don't expect us to do your parenting for you.

Warheads of various kinds.
What? You thought there was some non-military use for this?

I think that 97% is a result of a rounding error.
My car has an ingenious anti-theft device. I'm sure most thieves will not be able to overcome it in order to start my car.
Its a knob labeled "Choke" on the dashboard.

it's the lack of content.
The studios have fixed this problem. The 'for rent' DVDs are now stripped of all the extras. So now they are just as bad as streaming content.
Well, maybe not just as bad. There is still content on DVDs not available via streaming.
"How deep will it dive?"
"All the way to the bottom if we don't stop it."
The real trick is to make it surface again.

I'll take a prostate exam with that, ma'am.
What moronic moderator modded this "off topic"??
One that failed the Voigt-Kampff test, evidently.
That place is so popular, nobody goes there anymore.
