The more wideband you can get, the more money your adversary has to have in order to jam you. The downside to this of course, is how exponentially the power requirements grow for you as you become more and more wideband.:)

If the Corporate guns manage to modify the internet away from what it has now become in terms of the overall freedom of information flow, and general anarchism, I think we're going to see massive massive hacker incidents worldwide in numbers so large even the most in-depth IDS/IH techniques will simply fall flat.
Of course, I also think that this would be short-lived, and if the powers that be really do want to change the neutrality of the internet, they will, and that's that.
On the whole, the concept of the agency is great, vital to the nation.
The problems come in when required legal processes are ignored by the powers that be.
I feel ashamed to have worked under that agency for a couple of years. What is going on here is against the very mantra they preach to you regarding the performance of your duties. Violating the laws against collection on US Citizens used to be about on the same level as screwing a horse. Now it seems to be quite acceptable, at least by the upper echelon of management.
Yes, I already know it isn't the case, hence the rather self-depreciating wording I used.
Not only that, but I was a cog in the machine for a few years, so I know how it works. It really doesn't matter how I try to explain it, nor is it really a big deal of course, but I do have intimate knowledge of the laws and policies that some of these issues are governed by, or at least were governed by at some point in history.
I've said for many years that I do not vote for the simple reason that the voters have been marginalized completely. Right now voting has nothing to do with the real issues that we face, but rather the ones that extract the largest emotional reaction from the public that will benefit one party over another. The fact that we only have two major political parties is also extremely suicidal to our system of government.
In order to have a functional "Democracy" as we like to call it, I believe there need to be at least 4 major political parties, and by major I do mean relatively close to a 25% support number.
I predict we haven't even seen 1% of the abuse potential available to those in power yet, and things are going to get quite interesting during the next 20 years.
I'm going to assume, for my own personal sake, that this is not a unique situation for us, and that others have felt the same during prior portions of history.
I only hope the damage is reversable without a dramatic loss of life.
Like with anything, you have to start at or near the bottom and work your way up. The fundamental certifications like A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, etc are where you build your core knowledge of the field. Later, you start getting into things like CEH, CISSP, etc. So, build your core knowledge first, and then start getting into the nitty gritty.
IT in the government is an absolute fucking joke. Take it from me, because I work in it. The amount of money that is pissed away on useless, broken, or otherwise unecessary shit is astounding.
On top of that, the people who actually make the decisions, have no fucking clue what they are doing.
Insisting on selling the physical media is a very very dead business model. The only reason the big labels are able to continue doing it is because they have enough lobbying power to outlaw anything else.
Seriously, what information are we not getting here? Was she really convicted? I feel like I need to throw up.
Or their hunting buddy's face...
If you had tubes it would've been the opposite problem.
Yep..

out. The government gets it by default through taxes, and then pisses it away.

haha.
Obviously you need more practice with the english language! ;)
The xth moment of y subtracted from the lograthim of r^2 over 2T squared defines Z.
Defacements
Well I happen to work in that area..
:)
One reason civlians that report defacements might be told to fuck off is because there's already another entitiy that monitors them.
Your friend is full of shit. He wouldn't get reported to the Secret Service for reporting a defacement.
No, you sell product, which is data.

up for an hour and a half, and nothing has been moderated above 2.
This was more out of fear he'd have to curb his eating habits.
