    If some form of governmental legislation is passed regarding online gaming consorship, i would hope the companies providing the content would move the servers offshore and out of the range of such nonsense.

    I do tech support for a large ISP, most of the customers running windows 98 dont bother to update anyways. I'll have them go to windows update and there's 21 *critical* updates needing to be installed. Also, most of them don't even know what version of windows they run anyhow. To Joe Blow average user they could care less about microsoft support (until they try to install that new device that has no win9X driver). The continued support must be aimed at corporations to keep them using M$ products.

    The spammers must be making money from sending all this spam, how many people actually click through and order the junk being peddled? I imagine if nobody ordered anything from spammers there'd end up being no profit and no reason to spam.

    Not to mention you are responsible for degrading everyone else on your node's performance, cable broadband is shared, they make provisions for a certain amount of usage, if they have to increase the amount of total available bandwidth cause one person is hogging it, i don't want it reflected in my bill i'd rather see that person terminated.

    Comcast did upgrade their speeds, from 1.5MBps to 3.0 MBps. The power cycle of the modem is to insure it gets the new bootfile with the higher cap.

    Yamaha makes a home theatre device that converts all video ins into component video out. I think it's the rxv-1400 series. Cost was around $800, keep in mind thats just the receiver.
