I'd gladly take that, but this is only for US purchases.
I really don't care that much about a rebate though. I like their stuff cause it works. I switched to Seagate about 4 years ago when Maxtor went really bad, really fast. Actually still using the first 80 gig Seagate I bought.
I found this quite a bit with Mistake Edition too. Any time that I heard a potential customer complain about "missing machines", I'd ask them if any of their machines were running Milenium Edition. They would always have one machine.
That one machine would totally screw up the network. Different machines would lose connectivity all day. Remove the ME box, reboot the lan and no more problems.
Or until somebody straps on a set of nuts and takes responsibility and claims the dope.
No sense in having 3 guys get charged for the 1/4 lb of hash.
/got arrested, charges dropped //buddy claimed it was personal for the three of us /// got a $500 fine.. and we lost the hash of course. //// pretending I'm on fark
I can confirm that this works very well. The trouble come when they key has been used for 5 re-installations. That's when the install gets flagged and you have to call Microsoft.
Once you go through the installation, it will probably crap out at the activation screen because the key is different than the one on the disk you used. Most times you can simply re-enter the key from the sticker and it will work unless it has already been activated 5 times previously.
I have done this many times, but have only needed to call Microsoft twice. I tell them that it's a customers machine, they lost the original cd, I can't wait two weeks for HP to mail one so I reinstalled using my cd and their key. I do the long number routine and am finished in about 5 mins.
Here in Alberta, we call it Advance Disposal Surcharge. When you buy a new computer, tv etc, you get charged a fee to dispose of it later. This is brilliant. The stations will accept any electronics for free right now. This keeps all the old shit that hadn't had a surcharge charged, from the landfills. (payment of surcharge is not a pre-requisite to dispose of old equipment)
The collection stations then ship all this electronics to Calgary or Edmonton to be processed. (sometimes, if you work there or know someone there they will let you scavenge)Machines that are still viable are resold to computer dealers like me to be re-used.
Machines that are too old are stripped and the components are sent to the proper place to be recycled. Plastics get melted down, metals get smelted out etc. No, the system is not perfect, but it keeps the old tv's and computers out of our land fills.
Hopefully B.C. isn't re-inventing the wheel and they will have a similar system.
freesco.org and a switch. I used them for years until these Linksys (and related) cheap routers started showing up. I used 486's and small fanless pentiums.
I have a linksys now, but will probably switch back to freesco once my house construction is finished. They were very solid routers.
I heard this years ago, from a Peart interview but am unable to find a source. This is all wiki has to say on it:
"The title "2112" possibly refers to the Mayan date of the apocalypse, December 21, 2012. When December 21 is written in proper form it would be read as 21.12. The band has never spoken of this, however some fans believe it to be true, considering the lyrics involving a post-apocalyptic society after the "elder race of man" was killed. "

The sheer power of it all.
I can tell you that as a drummer, the first time I felt my bass drum in my chest was amazing. Yes I wore ear plugs and could hear everything fine... once I moved the bass monitor so it wasn't vibrating me off my throne.;-) (it was a bit too close to the wall)
Drugs could not compare with the adrenaline rush of playing live and loud. We only had 8000 watts in a bar.. I can't imagine concerts in an arena.
Agreed. They also show us their true colors by making it so Xandros won't work with Debian sources. When they turned into the Microsoft of Linux I dumped em too.
Version one would install almost anything from debian sources. In version two, Xandros would scream and holler and then finally screw up totally if I tried to install kpackage. I was not happy... I wanted it so I could install BZflag. Kpackage was normally like a 1 meg install... damn thing... installed for almost an hour then screwed up half of Xandros. Then I read that if you wanted to run something in Xandros, they would take requests and make it work for you. Screw that. Assholes. Stopped selling their shit and never looked back. Still have 3 unopened cds of version 2 on my shelf.
How true. Rogers and Bell did this shit in Southern Ontario before routers were cheap and available. Bell even had it in their TOS that you'd only hook up one computer.
I used to make freesco routers for a few people then. Worked great.
No shit eh? Will these guys ever learn? I have a p3 733 that cost me about $100 3 years ago. I added a 128 meg video card and a dvd player. I can play anything on that to my basic tv. Looks fine, works great especially with vnc!
I rip all my kids shows and put em on a server so I don't have to replace dvds every year.
The only movies that we buy are kids shows. I don't watch movies repeatedly but the kids sure do. Even if we do, the prices should be a LOT less. $10? American money? They're nuckin futs! Still way too greedy. Get it down to about 4 or 5 bucks and leave out the damn drm and we're talking. THEN I'll use my bandwidth. Anything more and they better offer a download service like easynews.
Can't read can you asshole. I said I stopped buying Maxtor over 4 years ago.. that would be 2003. If you read this: http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=Seagate_Technology_To__Acquire_Maxtor_Corporation&vgnextoid=1e8a814fef83e010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD Segate bought Maxtor 2 years after that.
I'd gladly take that, but this is only for US purchases. I really don't care that much about a rebate though. I like their stuff cause it works. I switched to Seagate about 4 years ago when Maxtor went really bad, really fast. Actually still using the first 80 gig Seagate I bought.
They made it too big to fit through the studio doors :-)
AMEN!! Brickwall wins the thread. Game over.
I like this one better though:CT Update http://www.vulnerabilityassessment.co.uk/ctupdate. htm/
You just forgot to close the tag. /sarcasm

Read the website. Freesco as in Cisco but free, not Sco as in those litigious bastards.

When is Lucas gonna make a light sabre game!!!!! I can't wait.. gonna have to try out one of the sword games I guess...
Knights of the Old Republic on Wii? Wicked!

December 21, 2012. Only 5 years. Taken I believe from the writings of Ayn Rand.
Might be because the issue was net neutrality and that the person in charge of it up here is clueless. Dunno. Maybe they just don't reply to emails.

Ever see Idiocracy? That's what's wrong.

See my sig:
I was thinking of doing something like that, but I still like a gui. (I know, Linux blashphemy)
What are you going to use? I used to like Sme Server.
It does a pretty good job of simulating the Vista eye candy, except for maybe transparency. Bonus is, all your apps work.
