This is right. It is only for the powerbooks/low-end to start with. I'm typing this one a PowerBook G4 15" that is 1.5 years old and almost the only difference is the .5 Ghz CPU speed increase. If the CPU doesn't fit in this machine it will be an damn INTEL. Either-way, as long as the customer wins I'm happy.

Especially the reboots! I hate to reboot a UNIX box. One day a SUN engineer asked me to reboot a server and I asked why? Well because of this and that problem. I searched about 1 hour for the problem and finally I solved it the normal way. Made him feel bad.... Today one of our servers has an uptime of 945 days, okay not patched but it is indeed a pity to have to reboot a machine while everything keeps working. This machine is not internet connected for those of you with concerns. Magic-Box:~ me$ uptime 0:55 up 10 days, 6 hrs, 2 users, load averages: 0.56 0.30 0.32 This shows my last OSX update.

I get your statement but I only want to buy from Apple, don't like the i-combe, move to REAL and buy yourself a compatible player. When you buy an iPod you know what you buy. Should I play X-box games on my PSII? What about these formats? Good luck with your REAL choice, nIK stick with mine!

Nice writing, Only I want to mention the fact that IBM has it's own P-series servers which all run on Powerpc. The new one is just developed and I expect a lot from it, remember de G5 is based on Power4 and now they released the Power5. On the other side you have SUN who's only task left is Processor design and fab (Niagara and rock) and some services of course. The rest wil be made by Fujitsu. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong... Anyway for us as consumers it is good that we still have choice.

Maybe also wma compatible (the itunes store is anyway only a way to sell ipods). Happy ipodding my dear Apple friends all over the world!!!!
