  1. OK...I'm pissed! on Metallica Wants To Ban 335,435 Napster Users · · Score: 1

Not at Metallica or the RIAA or Dr. Dre...but at the internet community for letting this happen. OK...I've never used Napster..."truly" but I after hearing such news makes me wanna dl a copy asap! We need to get more ppl into this...335k aren't enough to make a point...how bout a million or two geeks with every metallica album they own shared on napster, now thats worth a stink! Personally, I like Metallica, but they got enough of my money from album sales/concert tickets that I should be able to do whatever the f**k I want with all the damn music I bought from them...yeah, and don't forget the T-Shirts/other paraphenalia. C'mon they aren't hurting one bit...I'm urging all you geeks out there to join the napster revolution and download a copy (if you haven't already) and do your worst. Right now the line-up is 335,000 vs. 4???? What the heck? If we make the ration 250,000:1 we'll at least go down swinging! We won't go quietly into the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the rant!

  2. What is this country coming to? on Take the FBI's Geek Profile Test · · Score: 1

This is a perfect example of the state of our precious US. Ppl want to have children, but don't want to spend time to raise them...therefore they leave it to the schools and public schools are already becoming overcrowded etc. So kids lack attention and do crazy stuff to get it. Hence we have to start labeling ppl and taking away rights. Its the parents I tell ya, the parents.

  3. Maybe Linux is bad??? on More Mission-Critical Linux · · Score: 1

"Kessell calculates that his department has had to hire one less technician, at an average salary of around $40,000 a year, because of Linux' reliability."

Hmmm. This could be bad for Network Admins or IS ppl. More Linux=Less Jobs???

  4. This convinces me that this study is acurate! on Feature: Good vs. Evil on the World Wide Web · · Score: 1

    foo: 185,310
    bar: 15,260,090

What the hell??? According to this, "bar" is way better than "foo", but personally I like foo!

BTW: Due to this message, this page can now be added to the evil list since the word hell appears in it several times. Does that make us all evil?

  5. Re:Down with that other OS! Take that! DIE! M$ DIE on Dell to offer Linux on Dimension Line · · Score: 1

On a serious note: What avid linux user would buy an M$ product??? That would be like getting a coke out of a pepsi machine. Strange and twisted in its own way.

  6. Down with that other OS! Take that! DIE! M$ DIE! on Dell to offer Linux on Dimension Line · · Score: 1

Yes! Finally another step toward world domination for the Linux OS, and one step backwards for that other OS, whatever it is.

  7. KDE on Ask Slashdot: Comparing the GUIs · · Score: 1

I have been using KDE for awhile, and I have really been pleased with its performance. One aspect that is a little discouraging is it seems too be a resource hog on the older systems (i.e. P100 w/ 32Mb). I think that KDE blows away anything that M$ has put out. It's easy to use and highly customizeable, I like it.

I really haven't dealt much with any of the other Window systems like Window Maker or After Step, but I like their cool graphics and theme concepts.

GNOME, I've never played with this one.

  8. Who says a billion? on Indexing the Entire Web? · · Score: 1

So who says that there are only a billion pages out there, maybe 2 billion exist. So how do they know when they're done?

BTW: Who needs to sort through all that junk after doing a search. Use metacrawler, and get a pretty good compilation of the best search engines out there.
