  1. Re:Definitely Beneficial on State Department Developing Cyber Toolkit · · Score: 5, Insightful

Do you have any idea what how slim the chances really are to be killed by terrorists in the US? Even after 9/11 it's next to none. You are far more likely to be in a car accident, die of cancer, get a heart attack or being shot by a family member. This terrorist "threat" is no reason to take away our freedoms and slowly install a police state where the citizens are the "threat". Sure we cannot just ignore the threat but I for one prefer a little "unsafer" world over privacy invading security

  3. Digital = DRM on FCC Speeds Up Digital TV Signal Deadlines · · Score: 1

I think one of the reasons they may be pushing digital sooner, is because going digital offers easier deployment of several copy protections. But then again the rule of thumb will continue to apply to copy protections on digital material: "If someone can watch it ,hear it or recieve it, it can be copied". It just becomes more and more of a challenge, and might request analog methods to so. Just some random thoughts ^^

For the sake of humanity dont vote for bush, far to often when he has to talk without a pre-written speech, he does a terrible mistake, he seems to be a puppet for fellows like ashcroft, rice and more, and dont vote for someone that managed to be the president after losing an election.

Also dont vote for someone that supports dirty campaigns like the attacks he (and his team) have made against kerry, you may not like kerry much he will be a better president than Bush, that I promise ;)

hmm It can look alot better for one, and you can be lazy when you're using a GUI, you can use just the mouse for some time if you want. When coming home from school and Im really tired, I like to be able to use mostly my mouse for a while. But some computer system like monitor systems, Rental store systems and others can do with Text-mode graphics and some things you just do alot faster in console. Long live GUI and console/text-mode ;)

  15. Final Fantasy 8 And Spirits within on Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Impressions · · Score: 1

I think its a bit weird that no-one here thinks that Final Fantasy 8 is a great game, and not many who appriciate the FF:spirits within movie. Call me weird but I loved them both, Final Fantasy : spirits within had a huge effect on me the first time I saw it. Was fascinated for days, and not because it looked great (saw it first in ... well not so good image quality version). Just the spirit of the movie and the feeling of the world, I loved it all, and voice acting was well done by all imo. When it comes to Final fantasy 8 I think its great because of many things, Its graphics, characters, music, atmosphere and how I seemed to understand feeling of the world very well. I must admit that I never finished FF7, maybe I should, but if its better it doesnt make any less of FF8. I have only seen bits of FF9 and X and I dont like the chars, atmosphere and all that as well as 8. Just wanted to express my oppinion on those two, and I must say I think FF7 movie will be good non-the less, now is just to decide, complete the game or movie first hmm...

  19. I say stop waiting for it on Broadband Over Power Lines: Coming Soon? · · Score: 5, Interesting

I dont understand what the fuzz is about, around broadband over powerlines. It has been in use here in iceland for quite the while now, and my experience of it, is that its laggy (around 500 ms) and the speed is rather unstable, since its based on how many are using it at the moment. I admit its rather cool to connect your modem into a powersocket instead of a phonesocket but its not much more than that, here at least adsl 1,5 mbit is cheaper, and faster, the only thing power has over that is it uploads as fast as it downloads.
