Very good idea. It's not that I would mind paying the taxes at all -- I just hate where the money is going. I'm not a greedy person; if they just went around collecting a fund to improve the network's infrastructure, I'd glady donate.
That's what I meany by saying Google is NOT built over the Yahoo search engine -- and neither is Yahoo over Google. Yahoo search is not a rebranded Google search, because they both use two different ways to search for data.
Yeah, seriously, its been around for awhile now -- not the command, but port knocking itself. I've used it several times in the past for an assortment of fun activities...
"Knock knock honey, I'm home. Oh, you locked me out? *kicks the door in*" = my style of port knocking. =P
You don't have to. Just click "Already paid or planning to play" or something of that sort.
What exactly is different in this version? I haven't ran it yet, but maybe that's the reason why my last version of 10.0 would not allow me to get online with my laptop... Hopefully this will work though. o_O
Very nice observation, but if it actually is cool, I believe that it can be very useful as a cooling system. Take for example, it can be used to compress objects inside from getting too hot, instead of just cooling them in general. I know that seems oxymoronish, but it makes a lot of since if you think about it. Instead of going full-out to actually "cool it down," we can just stop it from heating up in general. There has to be something chemically astounding with the way this works, and I do believe that it can be used for a very effective cooling system.
Even though I have used the Radeon for most of my recent PC gaming life, I'm actually pretty glad this happened... even though it's going to require me to suck up my pride and tell my friends that nVidia finally got one over Ati. Haha.
idSoftware, as you may or may not know, is shipping an nVidia card (probably GeForce, most likely) in a bundle package with Doom 3, and just given that fact, makes me want a GeForce again.
Also, this could be essential to more games being ported to Linux, as nVidia has always been good with support and drivers for it. As I said earlier, I love ATI and my Radeon 9600 xt video card, but when it comes to running on Linux, they just... can't.
I'd say Lin--s sounds A LOT like Linus rather than ANYTHING having to do with Microsoft. I think Torvalds should take a stand and give Bill Gates a proverbial bitch slap.
I'm sure Mike Rowe is sitting in his computer chair and home reading this and thinking "Hm. Damn. Been there done that." Heh.
Well, I'm sure you had to use a little technical hacking skills and social engineering to get the information though, as Ethereal the program does not send back credit card info.;)
I understand truthfully though, as I can name a certain someone who has done something of that sort in the past before...
Well, what do you expect? They can't just raise the price because he's rich and drives a porsche can they? Given that example, they can't for Microsoft either. And THAT'S the main reason Microsoft is still around today.
It's going to go under just like the other one. Maybe if it would stop focusing more on the phone part, and just be a handheld also (with a lot of good games), it would do a lot better in the market. I for one don't really like the idea of holding my Gameboy up to my ear to call my girlfriend...
Ever since that Mac OS X incident, I've heard a lot of Windows users taunt and make fun of Apple. Then we wake up the next morning and continue on with the rest of our lives... which includes MORE holes in the Microsoft operating system. This is getting OUT OF HAND!
Take this into question. Would you rather be shot one small time in the leg, or five big times in the chest? Compare Mac OS X to Windows in that way, where Mac = smaller shot and Windows = more holes. It's scary, but true.
In a way, that could be a good thing and a bad thing. If they take a slower pace to patch things, then maybe they will fix the majority of the problems and create less when the new patch is applied. Now, in some cases, it could be a bad thing, as the black hats of the world would love to just pick that apart piece by piece just to see how secure those patches really are.
If more hackers would face themselves in a gray-colored aura, we'd see a lot more secure software in the world.
I think that by doing this, it would only motivate people away from Windows and onto the Linux platform. Besides, with Linux LiveCDs, we can run Linux on Windows boxes without having to rid outselves of Windows itself.
And on a different note, people will get to see the most stable program that Windows has to offer. Even though it may crash a few times, giving Linux a bad name... but it's Windows fault.
With all of these world war two games, we're just going in circles. Now, if we could combine Battlefield 1942's vehicle system, Medal of Honor's graphics, Return to Castle Wolfenstein's weapons, and Day of Defeat's realism, I believe God would step down.
And if we can at least get one down, its pretty much common sense to run them all. I never had a problem learning the Palm OS after my excessive knowledge of the Windows OS and Linux was made.
I think that if Novell bought out some small PC manufacturer, threw this version of SUSE on it, and sold it, Linux would evolve a lot faster than anyone would think.
The only thing Linux really needs now is ATI drivers, easy-configurable WineX-style software, and smart users. I guess we maybe can get 2/3 of those in the future though...
All in all though, I'm looking forward to getting this as soon as it comes out -- I'm actually going to buy the commercial version! I just wish it had more support for GNOME... but at least it HAS it!
I just think the game looks good, personally. Since the Xbox's price has dropped, I'll probably be picking up one soon. I never really wanted one, but I'm sure this game will make me appreciate the purchase. I also want to mod the console.
Sure, it's not EverQuest, Final Fantasy XI, Star Wars Galaxies, or any other dominant MMORPG, but it has some nice visuals. It's just something about water in games that make me really want to play it. I also would like to enjoy playing it from the confines of my couch for once. EverQuest Online Adventures didn't really do that for me.
Note. I currently play, and am a huge fan of EverQuest. Just stating that as not to show a deter from my opinions.
Well, from what I read, it seemed to be all about cars that are "speeding" and not necessarily running the redlight. Besides, it's not going to know it ran it unless it is right under it. So that was just a pointless statement, eh?
And my comment about how it can create accidents still remains.
When lights are green one way, they are red the other. How would it just stop traffic all together? This is a ridiculous idea. If it's not going to tag the speeders, then it will only create more traffic problems and accidents.
Very good idea. It's not that I would mind paying the taxes at all -- I just hate where the money is going. I'm not a greedy person; if they just went around collecting a fund to improve the network's infrastructure, I'd glady donate.
I don't see how they could tax it though...
That's what I meany by saying Google is NOT built over the Yahoo search engine -- and neither is Yahoo over Google. Yahoo search is not a rebranded Google search, because they both use two different ways to search for data.
Google built on top of Yahoo? What? They both use two different ways to search the internet.
Yahoo with its meta tags and Google with its linkback system makes them two different search engines.

Ha, I don't know man. Athlon's have some serious heat...
I think that if it was cool enough though, it could be used for a cooling-system (not saying that it's not) because it can contain a lot of stuff.
It's going to go under just like the other one. Maybe if it would stop focusing more on the phone part, and just be a handheld also (with a lot of good games), it would do a lot better in the market. I for one don't really like the idea of holding my Gameboy up to my ear to call my girlfriend...

True, and three out of four would be simply amazing, but I think that it will take all four to make God step down from the high heavens.
It'd be an awesome project for any programmer to do -- despite the royalities he'd have to pay. (If that is a concern.)

What about it taking down websites though? I don't think it's possible for them to have anti-virus software...

Or a 1000 deck that doesn't cost $1,000. OR a Sequel system.

No, I haven't. It completely stops traffic and there is no point in that.
I just don't like the idea. It seems to be too much like a joke that Cali's lovely Governor thought up while taking a slam, heh.
