Past incarnations of the Doctor have always been men. Likewise, the Master always regenerated as a man. Past versions of Melody Pond/River Song were women. The Doctors daughter regenerated (albeit, without getting a new body) and was still a woman. It seems pretty clear that regeneration does not include gender reassignment.

The important thing to consider when throwing (or launching) a phone in the air is how are you going to save it from impact.

Sure, you could probably thrown your phone 45 feet or more into the air - but could you catch it? Would you dare, considering how much a replacement might cost?

But, you could launch it - and allow it to be carried down by a parachute.

And you might use 2 or more motors. If you're going to such lengths to cheat - why not cheat it up right?

Who hunts with lead and doesn't remove the bullet affected area?

Bullets do tremendous damage to the surrounding tissue. The larger the bullet, the more damage occurs.

Hunting hogs in Texas (not for sport, we eat them), the optimum place to hit a hog is behind the ear. This is the best location to get them as it drops the animal in its tracks and doesn't damage the meat. Anywhere else and you risk ricochet (they have tough skulls) or missing vitals. Typically, any shot in the general vicinity will drop the animal, but the further you wander toward the rear of the animal - the more meat is lost to bullet damage. When I say damage - I don't mean that it's just a little tore up (it is, a lot) - but the meat is bruised. If the bullet fragments - a trail of bruised meat leading to the fragment is easily followed. Nobody eats this damaged meat - it doesn't keep - and it's not appetizing.

Many who hunt birds like to use steel shot instead of lead shot. This is more of a convenience as it's easier to remove steel shot by using a rare-earth magnet than it is to remove lead shot by looking for it.

You might change your tune after experiencing a vendor modified version of Android followed by a Cyanogenmod pure version of Android on the same phone. The difference is night and day. Sure, the vendors add a few snazzy UI features - but nothing that actually enhances the phone. In fact, most vendor versions suffer glitches and slowdowns that are maddening to someone who knows they shouldn't be there.

Since installing Cyanogenmod the first time, I now shop for phones that are capable of running it. The first thing I do with my new phones is install CM because I'm used to the speed and consistency of the interface.

On top of that, CM stays close to the current Android release - whereas vendors are usually far behind, some never updating at all.

My wife and I have the same phone (GS3) and she doesn't want me to make any modifications to her phone. I get better battery life and have fewer problems with CM than she has with the vendor version her phone shipped with. On top of that, the vendor version doesn't allow tethering to be turned on unless we pay extra on our plan - my CM version has no such restriction.

  14. Re:Fills.... on Spacewalk Aborted When Water Fills Astronaut's Helmet · · Score: 1

Still, a better - more accurate word could have been used. For example, "filling" would have been more accurate... I might have chosen "rapidly accumulating" - as the helmet was not approaching full after only 500ml (around the same amount as a bottle of soda).

My gas tank is full at 12 gallons, so 2 gallons does not make it full. Had the accumulation continued at the same rate, his helmet might have indeed been full at the end of a 6 1/2 hour walk - but, he didn't make it that far, didn't accumulate that much, and never achieved "full".

Judging from the moderation, most everyone else gets my joke and reference. For the rest - you really need to see "The Princess Bride" - and watch "Blazing Saddles" after.

There is a reason cyclists call them cagers, they are safely in their cage - oblivious to the fact that they're driving a deadly weapon.

On the other hand, I've seen people riding bicycles (as opposed to cyclists) who are oblivious to the dangers around them - swerving into the street, crossing roads without looking, horsing around....almost asking to get run over.

There are idiots on both sides of the windshield. How about we just say that everyone should act responsibly and follow the safety protocols in place.
