if they gave away the binaries for free and then made you register for the source it would be against the gpl, but they can make you fill out as many forms and charge you as much as they like for the binaries.

A Net Engineer friend of mine claims that Cisco are reluctant to support IPV6 because the amount of memory required to hold the routing tables for IPV6 is huge. Until memory prices come down it won't be worthwhile implementing it in routers (especially since there is little demand, chicken and egg problem).
Don't buy their product. If other people want to that's their business. It's not as if you have some god given right to watch TV, if you don't like the terms that they supply their product under don't use it.

I think as long as there is demand for recording devices there will be a supply. There is no ways they can stop people recording stuff, if you can decrypt it to watch it you can decrypt it to record it.
Why should people be able to take from the free software community if they are not willing to give back? The GPL stops proprietary software companies taking advantage of the work the free software community have put in.
While RMS considers BSD a free licence, he doesn't recommend people use any non-copyleft licence as it allows people to make proprietary versions without giving back to the community, essentially removing the freedom.
Most spam I get is porn and make money fast etc. but every now and then you get some spam for a product you would potentially be interested in (eg hardware or web hosting or whatever). But I would never deal with any of these companies since I figure if they are using spam they are probably not very reputable.
On the other hand I get a lot of snail mail advertising (I guess because my address is in my whois). I'd be more likely to deal with these companies since I figure if they are willing to pay for overseas postage just to tell me about their products then they are probably worth doing business with.
I actually liek snail mail advertising. I don't mind telemarketers either, but I would never do business with a spammer - spam is more likely to make me not do business with someone.

Anyone who has worked in tech support and had to deal with gamers (I want little ping! Too much pocket loose!) could tell you this for free.

The Devo track was really badly digitised and only played during the intro, you have a lame sid version during the game.
IIRC the C64 version of Afterburner came with a tape soundtrack to be played while playing the game.
