The Audio and video would get out of sync after an hour or so of playing. (This might be a PAL only problem if others outside of Australia haven't encountered it)
The upgrade to the DVD software that comes with the DVD remote fixes that (and has now been included in recent consoles) And as far as I know, you are not able to get that update without buying the DVD remote. I bought the remote just for the update...as contrary to what people would have you think, the controller is actually the easiest way to navigate a DVD, especially in the dark.
You mean the 'breaks less packages than 3.x and supports more standard C++ features than 2.95.X', compiler that was released from a snapshot of a PUBLIC CVS repository.....
The only thing that the gcc people were annoyed at was the fact that people might think that 2.96 was an official gcc release, as opposed to a RedHat release.
There's nothing wrong with the compiler itself, in fact, RedHat do a very good job of stabalising a product, since they are the ones that REALLY get it out on people's machines.
And regardless of that, they're stuck with it until 8.0 anyway, as they can't break binary compatibility until then.
If you want a book on system administration, and you don't have the mental capacity to figure out that you don't HAVE to go where slashdot SUGGESTS you go to buy it....then I'm afraid there is no hope for you.
Besides which, the slashdot link tells you where it's going.
Because unless the PS2 patches have gone back into the mainstream kernel, it's going to be one hell of a pain for anyone to download 2.4.18, and then attempt to apply Sony's patches against 2.2.1 to it....
They're going to provide updates as a courtesy....
why must people see a GPL violation in everything?
And as for integration...it's only seamless if you mean it comes with windows and you can click on a file in explorer to play it (which you can acheive with any other media player), apart from that it's UI is so inconsitant in look and feel to the rest of windows that integrated is the last word I'd use for it.
it wasn't real estate....it was the contents of an estate, which is the term used to describe all of someone's possesions / assets, especially in the context of being left after the owner dies.
If you haven't learnt enough english to spell 'definitely', or when to use 'piqued' not 'peaked', by the time you finish High School, then there really isn't any need to attend University. There's no more that can be done for you.
They're not acting as an ISP, just as the carrier, so you still have to go through an ISP on top of the transact charges....and the local ISPs haven't got the faintest idea about broadband....
The only one I've heard advertising TransACT connections charges AU$50 for a 500meg limit and then $0.35 per meg after that........I'd be pissed off if that were a Modem plan....but for broadband, it's just silly.
Add that to the fact that fas far as I can tell, TransACT have no intention of ever servicing my suburb (Charnwood), and Telstra's ADSL was the only real solution for me....
So far I'm fairly happy with it.....it costs me $100 a month, with a 3 gig limit before being charged $0.18 a meg. Hardly broadband Utopia....but not too bad considering the options.
Do you have any statistics or links to back up your troll^H^H^H^H^Hstatement about violent crime?
And for the nth time there IS NO FILTERING...so you're right, it needs no explanation, as there's nothing to explain.
BTW, I am not saying America sucks, just that Australia doesn't suck as much as some people that like to get carried away with government conspiracy theories, and who would really like to be able to proudly exclaim to the world that they are an "Oppressed Mass" would like to think
How many times do us in Australia have to say this...
NOTHING is blocked....nothing...not a thing...
Give me a web site, no matter how obscene, porographic, disgusting, hateful or otherwise and any Australian can get to it, or if they can't it'd due to simple network issues that have nothing to do with the Australian government.
The lists would be identical (Network issues notwithstanding), as the Austrlian government is NOT blocking or filtering sites, that's what makes the whole thing so stupid.....
It's all just hot air...albeit very expensive hot air.....
In theory ISPs are supposed to offer filtering software at a reduced price to new subscribers, but the subscriber is not forced to use it, and I am unaware of any ISP actually doing it anyway.
No, that's not true....the yellow "This film has yet to be classified" message only appears in front of trailers for films that have not yet been classified. The actual movie you are watching will have been properly classified.
flat rate doesn't mean unlimited.
My first ISP pointed that out to it's userbase a few years ago when it decided that couldn't afford to offer unlimited accounts any more.
They claimed that they never claimed to offer unlimited accounts.
Not that I'm saying I'm agreeing with them......'cause it sure as hell pissed me off enough to jump ship to another ISP that did offer unlimited.
Until they changed their policy too, 3 months later.
We've seen all this happen before with dialup.
or IN it either....
Registration or not, DMCA or not, it's still a blatant copyright violation
> and that could be known to begin with so marketing would plan for this in advance like if the company depended on it.
Marketing?.....Plan in Advance?...
Actually...the DVD software..

What 'Illegal' gcc?...

well....you COULD just use ethernet...
Also, the receiver allows you to choose the content...whereas an FM transmitter requires the server to choose the content....
no....you pay NOT to see adds...
I don't pay a thing, and I still see it....
I notice that the vast majority of those using the 'I pay to see this?' troll are anonymous.....
Sure, they could have all clicked the 'post anonymously' box......but it still makes you wonder a little, doesnt it?
I find it rather amazing that almost everyone that replied to this post actually took it seriously......
There are similar laws in Australia and New Zealand too....

I've always wondered this......
what exactly does the H stand for?
That's got nothing to do with Loki.
ID did the port for Q3A, Loki just distributed it.
So if you have the source, it came from ID.
Transact's not all that great right now...
They're not acting as an ISP, just as the carrier, so you still have to go through an ISP on top of the transact charges....and the local ISPs haven't got the faintest idea about broadband....

Australians can see anything they like....the government is not filtering anything...
They are using the list to attempt to shut down Australian sites, and forward the rest to net filter companies
The whole thing is completely ineffectual, and Australian web surfers will have seen no difference (regardless in their taste in web content)
(I live in Australia BTW)
You missed his point....he wasn't asking how you learn that you don't understand something...
What he was asking was how, if you never mess with something you don't understand, do you ever expect to understand it?
The best way to learn about something...is to have it blow up in your face...
I can't work it out....is this supposed to be a joke?, or are you seriously asking this question?
