Agreed, however it was just an example of the incredible, difference between the two. Honestly, from some of the things I've read, $17 mil is a drop in the ocean compared to what we spend on the president every year.
Oh, I so disagree. He owns approximately 24% of the company. So instead of getting paid 5 mil, he lets the company reinvest that money, thereby raising stock prices, generating significantly more money than the 5 mil.
Well, a 3-day event involving Bush, his inauguration as a matter of fact cost $17 million dollars for security. Now when you consider that they're spending apparoximately $6.1 billion on upgrading his helicopters (increase floor space, and communications... specifically adding secure lines with constant access), Marine One if you're curious. I'd say it's quite a bit more then a hundred times.... interesting article on the Marine One upgrade if anyone is interested Popular Science
How could their be 200+ comments and no mention of Arkanoid??? It is one of the single greatest games of all time, with more rip offs then any other game (well... other then street fighter). It's a fun, challenging puzzle, reflex game that requires skill, patience and tendinitis.
Your signature is probably the most accurate thing I've seen in this thread.
The laws they're attempting to pass are asinine:
"Under the existing Utah statute the distribution or showing of pornography and explicit nudity to minors is a felony."
A fairly standard view of that would make nudist videos illegal.
Actually, they're almost completely protected under the DMCA:
to avoid liability the ISP must:
* not obtain financial benefit from the infringement
* not have actual knowledge or awareness of facts indicating infringing transmissions
* upon learning of an infringing transmission, act quickly to remove or disable access to the infringing transmission, and
* implement a policy of terminating the accounts of subscribers who are repeat infringers.
Google in this case would be considered an ISP;)
Anybody else notice that the majority of the facts in the article were BS?
"Meanwhile Google will gain a huge new revenue stream by selling ad space on library search results. Selling ads on its search engine is how Google makes 99 percent of its billions. "
Anybody else recall Google explicity stating that there would be no ads on book results?
"The creators and owners of these copyrighted works will not be compensated, nor has Google defined what a "snippet" is: a paragraph? A page? A chapter? A whole book?"
Didn't they state at some point that there would be at most 3 paragraphs? With limits on the number of pages one person would be able to view in a set period of time.
" And have you ever tried to get a live person on the phone at an Internet company? "
Not really sure what this has to do with anything... unless they've never been on google. I mean... a link like https://print.google.com/publisher/exclusion-signu p might ive some information about how to get a book removed without having to make somethin as draconian as a phone call...
I can't see it happening, but a google IM solution that connects the major networks might be worthwhile.

So am I the only one annoyed by the extremely negative connotations used by the "reporter"? Apparently World of Warcraft's use of bit torrent was illegal, or just plain unknown! Or perhaps those who distribute anime truly are the bane of good.
