Send the trillian crew an e-mail about it and/or upgrade to the latest bought version of trillian. The free version sux and the hacked versions concentrate on keeping the chat functionality, but tend to forget about extras. Trillian rules, I use it too:)

There, just my initial thoughts about it.
Here is my line of thought. I am a hacker/cracker. I know they are on to me. I am pretty sure some of the things that I've noticed are not due to random chance. The man is closing in. Now I have the death penalty in my head as well as more normal prison penalties. The death penalty may just be the extra variable that pushes me over the edga and makes me learn how to use a gun, and start dabbling in explosives. Then one day I crack, and I go out in a blaze of glory taking thounsands of people who just happen to live near my house along for the ride into whatever the afterlife is. I think this is just adding a nice cool circulation of clean O2 into already cindering charcol. Please correct me if I am completely wrong. Or mod me up if you think that you never know, until it already happened.....

Alright, so all I have to say about this is, don't make a Windows version of the hack Please !! If we all agree not to port the code to windows, then all the script kiddies will be waiting for a DRM breaker that naver comes, and they might BUY some CDS. I dunno I think that what is happening with File sharing is criminal. If I go to a US court I will just pull out the legal papers from my home Countre Canda, and try to prove that online file sharing is PERFECTLY FINE. It only got a slight drop when everybody was doing it, now with this suing shit happenting, everyone is back in the red. So what the hell is the problem? It's not illegal, it's fine, and content proveders. WE know you need money.. I will all works itself out, lets just stop the madness. Please?
All Very good points, and this is why MS is freeked out of their minds right now. Now I don't understand why MS doesn't go open source. Just set up a funky licensce where a company can't just take the code and compile there own version, but must pay the licensce fee. Would that not work?
Also, I am still using windork cause of my pocket PC.. Old one, compaq 3660. Otherwise I would make the Jump.. I actually have a duel boot now:P
This is a very difficult problem. As long as the web is so open and allows anyone to e-mail, this will keept happening. What we need is someone to build a new e-mail system, only run by certified players. That is secure, and all the e-mail is fully encrypted on the servers. Now should this not be a national concern? We already have the law makers on our side. So, techno geeks, have the patience to phone or actually! mail! That way we can no longer keept getting ignored. I bet you if all of us here at slashdot wrote to out government, we would make the news!!
Come on people !! Lead the charge!! All we need is to get noticed, and to make bush and kerry realize they need to talk about these issues in public! Just because we don't watch TV doesn't mean we should get punished!
Hello, I am a fellow Canadian and I am having the exact same problem. I also have a couple of guy friends, and all the guys are having the exact same problem. You know who is getting the jobs? The girls. You know why? Because of quotas, most tech companies have over 50% guys. The other reason is all of the girls who where in compsci, really wanted to be there, and kicked the guys asses with grades and hard work. One piece of advice, if you are intelligent enough to get a Ph. D. do that. At the University of Toronto, I have seen more than one BA teaching first or second year courses! So, that is what I reccommend. That is actually what I plan on doing, unfortunately I missed the deadline for grad school....;p

This is very true! I have just worked on my graduate design project, and it was elliptic curve cryptography, cool stuff.
Now, encrypted e-mail would rock! So would the ability to protect what you are sending over e-mail. I know plenty of health care workers who are too dumb or lazy to encrypt e-mail. If google had some kind of secure e-mail service, where sending the e-mail through g-mail it could only get delivered to the target, and the target would need to type in the key to read the e-mail, and the version on the server was encrypted, so nobody could read it. This would solve a lot of legal issues, for a lot of people. And the thing is, if google offers this, and 1 gig e-mails....
Then they will have a huge market Boom!
If they actually have good storage size, plus secure encrypted e-mail? then they will be the best e-mail ever !!
PS. I would love to have a G-mail account.
I'm not writing my e-mail down, but as slashdot, they have my info!

Hello, I am living in Canada actually, and I am pretty happy with our current governments, the best they could do is dreg up some slightly flimsy accusations. What the hell is that? The problem is Slashdot News, Does not reach the General Public! But it should. Now my main Point is that if you want your governemnt to behave themselves. Send them MAIL or send them FAXES !! Mass e-mail they have taken to ignoring. But waste their paper!! they will sit up and take notice! I gaurantee. You know how to find your local representative, go to http://www.firstgov.gov/ Find out who to mail or fax and do it!! If this doesn't get slashdot on the news, nothing will!!! Just remember we are dealing with mindless fucks who love to ignore e-mail. Because someone could have sent 10000 e-mails etc etc. This much paper, will not be ignored. I personally gaurantee!
