There's only one source of source of energy, well, two if you count geothermal, the other is the sun. What you pump from the ground is an just a long term carrier for solar energy
Poindexter was convicted of five felonies in the Iran/Contra scandal, including destruction of documents, obstruction of justice and lying (under oath) to Congress. That would make him a criminal.
Actualy, In most cases you don't. Even those manufacturers selling computers preinstalled with linux still *charge* you for windows due to the licensing agreement they have with microsoft. I'm *paying* for it whether I want it or not. There is not a real choice for most people.
Who lived there before 1948, Israelis? or Palistinians. Those "bloodthirsty thugs" were forced off their land and forced into refugee status in THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

The biggest spammers market is spam. They sell addres lists, the more valid addresses they have the more their lists are worth
Petroleum is a finite resource. This argument is similar to the argument used by the logging interests to clear cut the rest of the old growth forests, Think of the jobs that will be lost! When the resource is gone the jobs *will* be lost.
How many *more* people will be dependant on these resources then?
How much more pain will be inflicted as a result?
How much more environmental degradation will both the consuming and the supplying nations suffer?
We *will* run our of petroleum some day. Perhaps it would be wiser to look at other options now before the last barrel is squeezed out of the last oil well or oil shale deposit. The oil industry and their apologists seem to have a hard time seeng through all that money, at reality.
ZDNet runs a "clueless" article attacking Open Source./.ers swarm to ZDNet and read all the responses as well as leaving some flame. ZDNet gets thousands of hits, hits == $$$ from advertizers. Doesn't sound so clueless to me.
The only spam I've been getting at my hotmail account has been from hotmail/microsoft. When I read any other message I am given the option of blocking the sender. This option is curiously missing from MicrSpam.
The study seems plausible, many times I see people with there beloved cell phones in restaurants who seem to have forgotten how rude it is to leave the ringer on when people are ttying to enjoy their meals.
When My 84 year old father bought a new computer, he was mystified by all the icons and features in windows98 when all he wanted was a word processor, a spread sheet and a web browser (also some graphics tools for my mom). I got him Applixware at the local Best Buy. This came with RedHat5.0 which I installed for him. The NextStep clone (Another Level?) was perfect for him! I set up a few buttons on the wharf (side strip) for bringing up ppp, shutting down and netscape and set up xfm and tkRat (for email) to come up on login and he was happy as a clam. I think this is a very good solution for the simple user with very few needs.
Actualy, BEHIND the White House is the Elipse and behind that is the Washinton Monument and be hind that is the river and behind that is Virginia (no comment) and behind that is the rest of America, including "good 'ol" Minneapolis. Is that the ghetto you were talking about? Sure, There are ghettos in and around D.C. just as there are in most metropolitan areas.
There are also alot of area residents that do not work for the gummit in any way, myself included. Perhaps you should think or learn before you spew flame bait all over these hallowed pages. Were you home schooled?
I have watched (and listened to) seasoned computer veterans sweating and swearing over a simple microsoft (95/98/nt) install and whistle through a Linux install. The great unwashed buy their computers pre installed with ms along with a handy dandy crash CD to reinstall. Perhaps the working press who have had to reinstall their ms windows boxes think that it is a great technological triumph to do so (insert CD-ROM, press install). Preinstalled Linux boxes with a preburned crash CD might make them feel like they are True Geeks(TM) who can speak with real authority. Whatever, just my $7.83 worth(I have a higher hourly rate)
I used to administer a network of SCO boxes. There were memory leaks in the kernel (had to reboot every month or so) and the support was *extremely* expensive and sucked. I had to edit the kernel BINARY with sdb to fix a scatter/gather defect just so it wouldn't eat the rest of the OS on each upgrade or install (upgrades were downright scary).
Hey! You're "Comic Book Guy" from the Simpsons. The "Worst Movie Ever" tipped me off.

That's like wearling your baseball cap backwards.

When I was 5 of 6 years old I saw commercial for Vaselene(sp?) Petroleum Jelly where this woman coated a sieve with Vaselene and it held water.
Maybe MS could contract with the Vaselene people.... But don't tell my mom. She was *pissed* when I did it.

Old growth forests are *not* a renewable resource to humans, we don't live long enough.

MS could be buying back its own stock to keep prices stable, they have deep pockets. BTW, anyone see RedHats? up 16 points last I looked (15 mins ago)

While you are talking about the 1996 version of NT,
Plus 5(more?) service packs. They *have* had almost 4 years to fix some of these darned bugs.
