Hitler didn't want to invade Switzerland. They were bankrolling his war and they weren't a threat. He didn't want to fight England and France, for that matter, according to his writings, but did so only because they declared war on him.
Now, the Czechs, Austrians, and everyone to the east, they were invaded (I know, Austria wasn't technically invaded, but basically...)

Yes, please do compare this. Because gun ownership in the two countries is actually quite similar. It's very easy to get a gun in much of Canada, just as it is in much of the US. Perhaps there might be something else going on?

I fail to see how a universal medical plan that 1) requires the theft of 40+ billion dollars a year from working Canadians and 2) forbids people with money from seeking effective treatment outside that wonderful system with its long delays and decades-old equipment, somehow protects personal liberties. And yes, I am a Canadian.
Also, Canada is already drafting DMCA-like legislation and will certainly fall in line with any other IP-protection legislation the US demands , unfortunately.
Schools in BC won't even let parents volunteer. The union for non-teaching staff (CUPE in think) pitches a fit when anyone non-union does any work around the school. Even work that no one would ever pay someone to do.
PS/2 went down to EISA, which was created by a consortium led by Compaq if I'm not mistaken, and then VESA and then PCI. Nothing to do with MS or Windows.

The US creamed North Korea and fought 300,000 Chinese troops to a standstill with less than half their manpower.
Many other countries had troops on the ground with the US in Korea, including England, France and Canada, among many others. It really was a world police action (that only took place because the Sovs were boycotting the UN at the time and weren't there to veto the security council).
As for Vietnam.. the US did not lose any significant engagement in the war. After Tet, the NVA was pretty much destroyed. The US only "lost" because they weren't willing to go into North Vietnam or Cambodia to finish off the guerillas, and were no longer prepared to pay the price of continuing the war.
In both cases the US was helping allied nations against invasions from other countries. Neither South Korea nor South Vietnam wanted to be invaded.
Defaulting to the lower speed was pretty standard among clone makers for a few years. The reason was the some older software had issues running on a faster clock (ie. actually expected to run on a machine of a precise speed).
Though most of them had a Turbo button on the case.

Article 25.

(2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.
Article 26.
(1) Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
(2) Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
(3) Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
Sounds like more of a socialist manifesto than a charter of Rights.

My understanding is that you would have under the previous export controls, so yeah, I think you'd be at risk.
No, because AFAIK the courts have consistently upheld that the government and police have no actual obligation to protect us.

The few NT shops I've been in usually rebooted their NT 4.0 servers on Fridays just so they'd be likely to stay up over the weekend ...
normal routing protocols could handle that. the access point with internet access could announce a default route.
the difficulty with wireless routing, I gather, is that some connections may be 1-way. ie node A can send to node B, but node B can't talk to node A.

That's funny. Quote FDR, the President who did more than any other to undermine the constitution, in an article about Government abuse of power. Sigh.

That same declaration also says things like:

no kidding.
Ford can be a great Jack Ryan. It's just that Clear and Present danger sucked. Try Patriot Games for a much better Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan film.
Let's not forget the 5 second trip from Saturn to the new and improved Earth, too. That's one hell of a rocket pod.
