    As almost anyone on slashdot can tell you: it's Linux, that's why it's better.

    But seriously, linux is not as prone to the software monoculture problems because there are so many choices within linux. Linux is almost a definition of software diversity on its own.

    Should we force web administrators to prove they know how to keep their boxex clean?
    If this is done, we should probably have users certified too. We could even just put the certification on their computers. . ."FreeBSD Inside" logos anyone?

    (Of course, learning to use BSD would be the certification test)

    Firefox doesn't use MFC because it's windows-only, using MFC would really mess with the idea of mac and linux versions. And tabbed browsing isn't IE's biggest problem, it's security. . .while I enjoy the ability to have my webpage run programs on the machine I'm using, it is a bit of a security risk that I can do it without any warning (I'm referring to a remote-execute flaw, not activex controls).

    But what happens when someone else registers with your address (this is not just a hypothetical question to me, it just happened on my main address)? There are only two reliable solutions to spam: a good spam filter or not having a e-mail address. Anything else fails the instant they find or guess your address.
