Apple learned their lesson after Microsoft. Steve Jobs returned and instead of creating new closed standards he embraced open ones.
The closed Apple would not have survived. The open Apple would have flourished and created a rich community.

Sure, a record company could buy a service, but they'd lose a lot of the music on the service because it would be owned by other record companies.
The reason this worked for Kennedy in relation to the first moon missions was because we had somebody to compete against, the Soivet Union. The Soviets were on the way to the moon and we had to beat them there.

Virtual PC is emulation, therefore you take a nice speed hit. Vanderpool is hardware based. It uses the actual hardware on your machine.
