Yeah, i'm not sure which is worse. Siemens/Apogee or Metasys.
It literally makes me nauseous to know how these systems work and see the people (well, most of them) put in charge of it that don't know the first thing about basic security. I'm talking serious control over critical building automation shit is handled by complete morons.
Yeah, microwaves will do it for sure. an "open" hallway on campus with multiple level balconies. lunch time was HORRIBLE because of the varying type/brand/quality of microwaves everywhere.
Oddly enough, after normal working hours I would have 0 problems;)
I didn't see this personally, but the person that told me would not have known to make this up or do it on his own.
Picture this:
work laptop in work car
employee opens laptop to use it
employee happens to be down town in business areas
auto-connects to some strong wifi (this was a few years ago before things were pseudo-secure from the box)
accidentally opens the viewer for our in-house security cameras
camera software auto-scans for feeds
employee finds this hilarious and calls to tell about how he is looking at server rooms and hallways in some building
i'm in almost the same boat, 4 different offices spread through 5 buildings. 6 servers (file/print/db/specialty apps) around 300 workstations and about 400 users
yeah, burning out fo reals, need like 1 more guy to base in another building and i'd be better.
expanding on that, not only would it make him think twice about things for having it, it would make him think twice about having it "REVOKED"... which I don't know if they do, but whatever
Tough year? How about the year people finally realize security "professionals" are actually NEEDED!
... and the second mouse gets the cheese?
I also thought it didn't look written "all at once". Just type it up it in Word and autocorrect, that should do it ;)

in order to truly understand the whole, one must first know what each part does as it relates to the whole.

Obscurity becomes security when you have no reason for expectation of privacy :)
Things were different back-in-the-day, remember?
It is really sad to see things like this happen today.
first, i'm not sure what this has to do with the post.
second, I do the EXACT same thing :)
that is all

Now, part two: I don't know how these things work, but, why does it seem so hard to track these things down and find the source?
expanding on that, not only would it make him think twice about things for having it, it would make him think twice about having it "REVOKED"... which I don't know if they do, but whatever
