What genius it would be to lure the masses into the ultimate information trap.

The trapdoor slams when they have everything they need to control you... the Walmart of the web.

I'm not saying its going to happen. However, us paranoid (for medicinal purposes, of course) civilians have our eyes peeled.

Everybody knows that rapists use condoms and ski masks to keep from being identified by the police. The obvious solution is to outlaw condoms and ski masks, thus giving us the edge in catching rapists. We've examined all possible outcomes based on this solution and its perfectly clear that this will put a halt to all rape crimes.

Makes about as much sense as shutting down kazaa.

If you follow the link in his entry, you'll notice that the rover actually had to detour and drive over the object. They claimed that it went into a slide while on a hill and they could not control it. Yet this vehicle runs on treds and shows clear tred marks and no signs of a skid. I'm not saying this rabbit thing held the secret to life in the universe, but it doesn't make a lot of sense as to why they would change course to run it over and then claim it was due to the rover being out of control.

There is more to cooling a video card than just case fans. There are ram chips on the video card that may or may not be cooled. There is also the consideration of how they are cooled. If you stick a solid coper heat-sink on, its going to release a lot more heat than aluminum foil. Also, the fan on the video processor is very important (does your card even have a fan?). Radeon cards are notoriously bad when it comes to the stock cooling. For ideal cooling, check out the OTES system (id link it, but im a noob. you can find it with this item number at newegg.com N82E16814123127).

The massive breakthrough in Solar Panel technology has been around for a decade. I was given an offer to work for a canadian firm that claimed it could power all of north america with six football fields of solar panels. Its not about "inventing" the technology, its about getting it out from under the shoe of big business (read: Standard Oil).

Its the same deal with medicine. There is no profit in curing AIDS, cancer or any other disease. When you have people trapped into buying your product at your prices, why would you take away the demand?

-- I do not approve of this or support it in any way. But I can understand why it happens.
