I don't think there is any "serious debate" over whether GW is caused by humans, whether it's a problem, or whether we should do something about it - the answers to all those questions are 'yes'. I'd venture that the debate is over how bad the resulting changes will be - bad, really bad, or omgwtf.
I'd rank the PSU just slightly ahead of the case, but behind memory and hard disk drive in order of importance.
I don't agree with that. The PSU is one of the most important components, in my experience. Then again, no one should really be buying crap quality HW in the first place.

I had high hopes for nvidia's nforce4 onboard RAID, but after someone said it sucks, I don't know what to look for. Are those $100 Promise cards good game?
What is it like when you're hallucinating? Do you believe what you're seeing is real, or do you recognize that the images/sounds/whatever are only a product of your mind and not of reality?
BTW, I myself having heavy depression (maybe bipolar-II, a less extreme version of BPD), anxiety (panic attacks), and OCD, I sympathize with and respect your stance on not passing on your genes onto a child. I would never want this kind of senseless suffering on anyone. Maybe if medical treatment of mental illness significantly improves to such a degree that these problems can essentially be cured, I'll reconsider my views, but as it stands, we just don't have a good enough understanding of the mechanisms behind brain disorders.
My ECS K7S5A hasn't given me any trouble, and I've had it for almost 5 years. Contrast that fact with 2 PSUs (Antec TRUE380s - never buying that company's junk again), an IBM HDD, and a no name crap stick of memory that have kicked the bucket - all a part of the same desktop machine.
First one crapped out after a year. +5v rail was reading 4.6v and the machine wouldn't boot, or if it did, the HD motor would turn on and off repeatedly. Had horrible STOP errors. RMA'd it in exchange for a new one.
The new one went south after roughly half a year. Same BS happened - +5v rail was consistently 4.5v, and BIOS couldn't even detect HDs because they wouldn't spin up.
It's not like I'm overstressing the things, I've got a 1.3GHz t-bird, a CDRW/DVD drive, 2 HDs and an old gf2.
I said to hell with antec, and bought a Seasonic Super Tornado 400W. PC is working fine now.
Haha, yes, I realize this. I was surprised the game would even load - I guess I took 'system requirements' literally, as in 'you need at least X hardware to run the game, otherwise it won't load'
I haven't d/led demo, but are the plasma rifle and BFG left out, just like in Doom 1 shareware?
That does little to convince me. For all I know, 10 fps would constitute as 'good performance' for somebody. What kinds of numbers are you getting in timedemo?
For me, it was ~7.7 fps in 1024 res. on low quality (bump maps and shadows on during tests), ~10 or so in 800x600, and ~14 fps in 640x480. I have a 1.3GHz athlon, geforce2 pro box. These numbers prove the game is absolutely not worth playing.
Yes - changing the channel on my d-link solved the problem, completely. Before, I would get frequent interruptions in connection - every few hours, my connection would go through a routine of connecting and disconnecting, as if it was confused about something. It would repeat this periodic behavior up to 10 times, which was a pain in the ass.
E-mailed d-link customer service (which I find surprisingly knowledgeable/helpful) and they suggested changing channel.
Forgotten Hope is extremely well-done. Its focus is on a mix of realism and fun. Tons of new maps, and kickass weaponry like the King Tiger, IS-2, and many, many more vehicles, each with distinct handling characteristics (unlike bf1942, where everything feels arcadey).
I've never gone back to vanilla '42 since. It just seems so weak in comparison. Oh, it's a bit hefty at 1.2GB (!!), and 1GB of RAM is strongly recommended.
I know plenty of intelligent folk who are good drivers. The really smart nerds who can't do so much as throw or catch a baseball deserve electrocution!!!!!!!!!!

What? Are you telling my friend he can't drive 80mph in a 35,000 pound oil truck? Or bobtailing at 75mph in heavy rain?
Slave labor.
Anyone care to explain - in english - what pixel and vertex shaders are? The wikipedia article ain't very clear.
The military doesn't allow soldiers to take any blood pressure medication?

I guess Adolf Hitler was pretty enthusiastic about this, as he submitted his name 8 times...
OMG if you TK you get the death sentence instead of permaban...
How does one measure HD read performance?
It's called an eyelash.

World 2-1 is way too hard. Anyone get past it? Mario's movement is too damn cumbersome to dodge those flying bastards.
I've had terrible luck with Antec True380.

What? He didn't really put the disc in, he was only demonstrating where the media loads. Either that or the UMDs load very sloppily into the thing...

So yes, 2.4GHz phones mess wireless LAN up.
Here's an F-14 creating a sonic boom overhead in some type of airshow.

I was just going to ask that. It sounds like a blend of Lateralus-era Tool and APC...
I imagine those tests excluded retarded people.
