Ten years ago, I wouldn't even think that such a database exception would ever exist. It seemed like same-sex marriages would never be legal anywhere here in the states.
Scenario: I work for a bank, and I embezzle money by coming back to the bank after hours and doing transfers between accounts and changing the books to make it seem legit. One night I see a fellow employee in the office with the president, when no one should be there (including me). The employee pulls out a gun, shoots the bank president in the head, turns around, sees me, smiles, and takes off.
If I report the murder, I only have the 5th amendment to protect me from being found out about my embezzlement, which has NOTHING to do with the murder.
and has been proven that it is entirely possible with today's technology to walk down near every path of a chess game
No, no it hasn't. The number of moves playable in a game keeping the game under 40 moves is ~10^43. It is estimated that the total amount of moves past that is 10^10^50. This is more than atoms in the universe (~10^80)
One thing that is broken is I can't "hide" shit in my inbox that isn't spam and I don't want to see. I'd love to hide the Papa Johns, DealExtreme, etc from view in my inbox, but still have them in their own (filter) pseudo-folder.
You show me documentation on how to write an X video driver, and I'll friggin do it. There is no consistency between the drivers at all to even snag one as a "template". There is no article/paper that I could find that says "Here is how you develop an X video driver".
No, there was no trial period. You paid from day one. My intention was to pay for one month and be done with it. I didn't use the service past the first initial day. I wanted nothing prorated, just my money back for a second month charge which should have never happened since I called and canceled the service on day two.
get yelled at and treated badly by their 'customer service' for 3-4 hours as you escilate up the chain
The one and only time I ever dealt with AT&T was back in the days of Windows 95, and I signed up for their internet service via the convenient icon already on my desktop. I only needed the internet for a day, and the following day, I canceled it. A month later, my card got billed. I called them and they didn't care. I tried to escalate the situation, but I only got a single transfer and that person REFUSED to transfer me anywhere else. She said she was the last stop in the line and there is no way I am getting past her or getting my money back. I actually had to go to the bank and fill out paperwork to have the charges reversed and a new card issued
Also, the option of turning to outsourcing creates less pressure to increase wages
WORKER: I would like to discuss a raise to my salary BOSS: No, you aren't getting a raise. Hell, you should be HAPPY to get what you are getting. I could get 10 guys from Infosys for what I am paying you!
Perhaps I watched the first 30 seconds and realized it is a Lebanese version, so I deleted it. Then I found out that I got a drive-by java exploit installed on my machine from the torrent site that I downloaded it from, so I did a clean install of Windows, JUST to be sure. Where are we at now?
Don't you mean browser.privatebrowsing.allowNSASpying=false?
Haven't you been paying attention? They are
I honestly don't know if they can fly. Atmospheric density and all of that

Screw gold, the USD, and bitcoins. Start hoarding cans of coffee
Those are layers on top of TCP/IP. Fix it on the protocol underneath
Dennis Miller, is that you?

Because of the vision of the manager at the top of the pyramid

Too many layers of abstraction. Think of this as the SDL of 3d game engines
Your copper twisted pairs for DSL go to the closest CO (less that 600 meters/2000 feet). A T1 can span MILES
Yeah. This is when it conveniently becomes broken (I have a buddy with a brother that is a cop, in Ohio, and this absolutely happens)
Neither are templates/generics, but these new C++/Java/C# folks fight to the death to avoid class inheritence

This is what they WANT you to think

I'm sure you meant "except their APU platform"
ATI Mach64
So, IE6

Sounds like a good point to refactor
