I have to agree, I work as a contract consultant and I'm very happy in my job. I get all the benefits of a senior role, picking the work I'd like to do, still able to get my hands dirty if I want to etc. Office politics and personal development plans fall into the rubbish category, which for the most part I can completely ignore.
My work involves me with people in permenant positions in management, for the most part they are overworked and miserable, whereas the other consultants all seem quite a bit happier.
The best part is you can finish up with a really good looking CV.
Disclaimer: The company in question is a huge multi-national and as such YMMV.
Apple and Intel merging is probably not a good idea. The relationship Intel has with Microsoft would probably suffer as a result. Intel will want to keep Microsoft sweet, the sales of CPUs for the Microsoft market is huge, Intel would have to think of what might happen if MS put its money behind AMD.
Just my 2p.

I work in MSFT development and support; at home I use both Linux and Windows. I'm not a big fan of Apple, never disliked them either though, looked at the Mac a few times, but couldn't justify the cost for something I wouldn't use that seriously.
This has changed however. I just don't think some of you get what this is about. My office at home is 6'x 8'. This doesn't leave me with much space for loads of kit, this mini Mac though is just the ticket. I get a machine that runs Apache, mySQL, mail server, etc. In a box with a smaller footprint than my mouse mat, that doesn't keep the family awake all night. I already have a keyboard, mouse and 22" CRT, I don't need another display. All I need is a small, almost silent "PC" and this is it.
There is another bonus; I can let my wife use it for mail and surfing without the worry of what she may have "installed" whilst I've been at work.

Its one thing hating them, they do however generate a lot of business for them. Intel has shareholders to keep happy.

Doesn't matter with all the security holes everyone else will be able to read them anyway. :)
(Joke)
Now if I only had some mod points, thats the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
It is such a shame the game is a load of rubbish.
I have only one question. How come only the 256meg version comes with polarized lenses.
That blows it for me, I would have bought a pair if it wasnt for that. Oh and the fact they look crap, that put me off a bit.
You have obviously never seen my wife try to slice bread.
tongue in cheek mode off
