I've actually been pretty lucky with the Patches Scrolls. I've been using their site for years now, and it's been very reliable. Anything I can't find there, I can just hop on eMule and find, fortunately.
As far as the Interplay site, it's been down for several weeks, long before anything was announced here on Slashdot (I've been following the story over at No Mutants Allowed). But apparently it's still responding to pings, which is strange.
"Hopefully the rumors of Interplay's demise are greatly exaggerated."
Hopefully ? I'm hoping they do go under permanently. While I certainly feel bad for those who stayed with the company and have to deal with this now (which the exception of Caen, I have no sympathy for him), Interplay's been going downhill for years. Their tech support has to be the worst I've ever encountered (especially when they stopped replying to any of it two years ago), their "quality control" is completely non-existent.
For that matter, I can't think of a single good game they've released since Baldur's Gate 2. And, to me, the worst part was their decision to axe Fallout 3 (and Black Isle Studios for that matter) and instead pushed out the utterly worthless Fallout: BoS.
.. Well, at least on the bright side, now we have Obsidian and Troika out there (founded by ex-members of Black Isle)..
Setting a movie based game in the same world or universe, but following some side-story or other characters is probably the best way to go. Although they're obviously not based on a movie, the two Half-Life expansions Blue Shift and Opposing Force demonstrate this perfectly. They both take place in the same location and time as the original Half-Life, but instead of following Freeman, they follow a security guard and one of the invading troops instead. You'll often run into places Freeman has already been, seeing what he did there, or you might even catch a glimpse of him escaping.
Doing it this way with a movie based game would leave it open for creativity and a different story, while keeping it tied to the movie.
Just look at the Autobahn for an example of this.
I tend to wonder why speeding is considered such a major issue that you'd develop sensors to catch speeders. In all honesty, I don't see any problem with speeding, with the exception of side streets and the like, speeding there is obviously dangerous. What a pain in the ass this could be.
I can't believe they left out Jeremy Soule. I still listen to the Total Annihilation soundtrack constantly, and his works from Icewind Dale and Dungeon Siege were beautiful.. It's a real oversight to not even mention him in an article on music in games...

The saddest part is that the bulk of the early "convictions" were almost all from around my area... it's so sad to see these cars on here and remember seeing (and subsequently gouging my eyes out) around here. Damn you Henrietta and your college students !

Why would their patches be gone forever ? You can find them all over the place, like at the Patches Scrolls.

There's a remake currently under development for the GBA, as well as one for Earthbound Zero, or Mother, whichever, for the GBA.
Bionic Commando had a remake semi-recently on.. Gameboy Color, I believe. http://www.gamespot.com/gbc/action/bioniccommando/ index.html
