So does that mean if you have downloaded stuff, and you stop, they can't catch you? Does it imply an amnesty? Or is it just sloppy wording on their part?
No, it's just sloppy logic on your part.
They write not get caught ==> stop, and you read stop ==> not get caught.
As for my "Linux" joke, I think I really just mean "does it run on GNOME?", because I want to use the IDE without changing window managers. Or maybe run GNUstep in a GNOME window,
Of course you can. Gnustep is not a desktop environment, nor does one come with it. Screenshots of Gnustep apps are most done under windowmaker, but even that is not a Gnustep app.
it it can generate GTK+ code.
Not sure what you mean. Have the Gnustep IDE/interface builder (gorm?) code to Gnome APIs rather than Gnustep's? Then no. The API is the point of Gnustep.
Looks more and more like the nice way to run Linux apps on those (and no, Fink hasn't ported *everything*) would be Linux-on-Mac -- does this exist yet?
WordPress has a variety of different plugins for handling comment spam. The best one I've seen renders a series of characters graphically (a la TicketBastard) which the user (a human, of course) has to type
Just this morning I noticed the same thing on pyblosxom (example at bottom).

+1, Insightful. Other example (since you asked), the proof that that there is no ruler-and-compass construction of a heptagon; that the circle can't be squared; etc.
Oh and how would poor schifaw prove that "a negative statement cannot be proved", anyway?;)
What is going to take for Bill Gates to wake up and say that suing OpenOffice developers isn't worth being able to lose $1.06B to a company that actually has the legal resources to wage a protracted war with Microsoft?
Or: wake up and buy out Kodak so he'll be the one who does the suing? After all, Kodak themselves bought the patents from Wang.
Note, how once patents are for sale, the whole game shifts from rewarding creators to rewarding businessmen. (Same with copyrights, where Vivendi makes its money selling Charlie Parker records. Other legal regimes make it impossible to sell authors' rights.)
Kodak IMO are no different or better than the rogue states getting their own arsenals of nukes. Now the big boys are getting attacked so, what do they do?
They do the same -- only in international affairs it's not called buying out but regime change;)

Not for ppc, do they? (That would be great news.)

Less RW than a floppy. No wireless. Lame.
Good. Let's now dismantle NASA, public roads, the National Parks, etc., as all this was terror inflicted upon us by overreaching governments.

Who on earth said that? You're not replying to anyone.
If anyone is to blame for the official OpenOffice.org Aqua port going by the wayside, frankly, it's a lot closer to Sun than anyone else.
Huh? Sun should be blamed for not porting OOo to the Mac?!?
Actually yes, it does. Basically they have made clear that there are no plans to Aquafy 2.0. See:
What it looks like is that they have recognised that NEOoffice is a valid port
Yes, but that forked from OOo 1.x.
I looked it up (QT screenshot, QT/Aqua screenshot).
It looks impressive, compared to Neooffice/J.
But does that QT OOo actually build? on the Mac?

Finally someone gets it. We will not listen to anyone's opinion on random downloaded software unless they wear a white blouse.
