There is no fraud in this. Jeff sent the guy what he paid for. Since the guy setup a fake escrow site, he paid nothing, so Jeff didn't send him a powerbook. Now if customs expects to see a powerbook and they get a p-p-powerbook!, isn't that close enough? The scammer was a total douche. He had been doing this for awhile. Pipski and Starbucks saw him sign for other packages that looked similar before the ringer was even delivered. That guy needed a heavy dose of some goon justice, and that's what he got.
Regardless of how MS is the evil empire or whatever we're calling them this week, you shouldn't receive support if you didn't pay for it. They make a product, and if you choose to use it, then you should pay for it. Yes, their license costs an arm and a leg, but there's no excuse that warez monkeys should receive support. If I pirate WineX, should I be able to email the developers and ask for help on something? I'm not a developer, but if I was and I sold a commercial product, I'd be pissed off if someone had the audacity to ask me for updates if they willingly STOLE my work in the first place.
Hell, look at what happened to us in California. They thought it was such a great idea to deregulate electricity services, and that totally screwed us over a few years ago. My bill went through the roof then.
I'm 20 years old right now, and after spending 2 years after high school screwing around and being stupid, I'm ready to get my act together and get back in school. I can only afford community college, but I am planning on taking mostly tech classes. I don't have any crazy ideas on making a lot of money to start with, but I am hoping that any certifications and degrees I earn will help me obtain an entry-level IT job. I'm hoping that someone could share some experiences that they've had with me.
I just made the switch from XP to Mandrake 9.2 and I'm loving it! In fact, I'm loving it so much that I'm installing it on my other 2 computers and I am now going to encourage my friends to make the switch as well. Come get some, Darl.
Insert obligatory 1984 reference here.
Another example of GOON JUSTICE.
