  3. ABS Brakes and access control on Automobile Black Box Sends Driver to Jail · · Score: 0
As for knowing what happened - what, do you think that the cops can't take measurements like they did before? if we go back to your example of mashing the brakes at 10s, then there'll be some nice thick black lines on the pavement, won't there?
ABS might prevent such marks on the road, a added feature that is almost certainly on all of the cars listed. I still don't see where the issue is. How about a 1 minute recording that can only be accessed if an accident occurs (airbag inflates). This would prevent the "random search" alluded to by previous posters.

  5. Re:Apple and major retail chains on Gateway To Close All Retail Stores · · Score: 0

think you're confusing cause and effect here. Apple chose to go direct precisely because their forays into big box retail had been so unsuccessful. BestBuy, Circuit City, Computer City, Office Max, Sears - Apple has tried them all. In every case Apple's products were marginalized by big-box salespeople who didn't know the first thing about Apple technology and had no interest in learning about it.

We have CompUSA near here and they talk up Apple quite well it seems. They are within a mile of a dedicated Apple only retail store and both seem to be very happy co-existing. I don't think that the marginlization of the staff is that large an issue. If you're going into a store to spend as much as a Mac costs, chances are you already know roughly what you want, so a saleperson is more a funny distraction than a real influence.

Yeah....I hated working with the software developer, once it gets on your clothes, it never comes out. I much prefer the new Polaroid software for that reason.
