There were other predators in the LONG history of the dinosaurs. Velociraptors being the more famous. So the other preds would bring down the kill and the T-rex would show up and drive the preds away and eat the dead flesh. Sounds reasonable to me!
If that's the case, then balloons should be outlawed. Just tie a few together with the payload and a simple trigger and badda bing, handy dandy delivery method! Any rational person can come up with THOUSANDS of delivery methods!!
How come there aren't mobos and cases to make your own laptops (that I know of...)?
With the clock rates climbing above what the *average* user needs, the next push should be into making the whole smaller.
I'd love to be able to buy an empty case and LCD and slip my own choice of mobo/system in and go. The case could have knockouts for various different configs.
Redhat -- too visable...give away the soldiers position.
Slack -- great, soldiers who are lazy....er wait...
Suse -- Yeah right, our men in arms go to battle with a girly name
So Mandrake it is!
It looks great, but how well will it stand up to use? Is the rusting agent going to wear off on his hands, table, etc? If so, what is there to keep it from getting into the mouse or worse drives and rendering them buggy or dead?
Cool work....I'd like to see how it fares after a few intense games.
I've spent several hours trying to recover my HD. It won't let me install anything BUT Linux on it now....and yes my business requires it. So here I sit, deeply annoyed.
My 40gig drive shows up in the bios as 41111 and in the format utilities as 38000. How is this happening? Before I install kore, it was showing 41111. How can I get this back? I've tried using another HD with OS on it to reformat, I've tried resinstalling Linux and aborting after using the install to repartition. AHAHAHAH
I can still read a book if run over, in fact, one can read at least SOMETHING from a book even if it is treated in the harshest way possible (just look at any middle schoolers book)
We're so informtaion heavy, will we need things this huge for acrchiving? How will the important stuff be seperated from the chaff (redundant stuff like/. dupes)?
I used a cheap solid state personal recorder that could record and replay ($75). I got one with USB transfer so that I could make a quality recording on my computer and load it on the player.
I next popped open the case and soldered a lead to the play button so that I could run a large, solid button to the display case front. I then ran the speaker output to a simple little amp (look online for simple plans or buy one) and then onto a 10" speaker.
The larger speaker gives a nice mellow sound which people tend to enjoy more than the tinnie sound of a smaller speaker.
See that's my thing. I am always near a computer, and when I'm not, I'm no more than an hour away.
see the HD issue, but not everybody is attached to carrying data like those here on slashdot.
I did some work recently teaching a ladies kid how to use her brand new iPod and she had a total of 8 songs she wanted to listen to. Consumers don't always buy the biggest. If they did, we wouldn't have small medium and large at McDs.
Whatever they do, maybe they should make float! Then they could just reuse it when it sinks!

Isn't the magnetic field of Mars unstable / not really there?
I was under the impression that the magnetic field was required to prevent the sun's solar rays from stripping the atmosphere away.

I mean, there has to be a way to dissipate the heat through or means....or design cooler machines.
Would it be possible to build a passive radiator into the back of the screen? Maybe a flexible heat tube or something?

I had one of those when I was young. A little plastic car that was pulled back and released. It even had a simple steering mechanism.
Okay, so it wasn't over 500 years old and the size of a golfcart, it was still cool!

ne would think that the amount of music stored on a device shouldn't be more than can be played before having to recharge.
What good is 20 hours of music if the machine only plays for 10?
wasn't about slavery.
BTW, I'm a southerner, born in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, so I can give you an honest view.
