"They have converted a Mac G3 to an Intel P4 System capable of running Windows or Linux."
Linux runs on PPC anyway, what's so special about this "conversion"?
The "Installer" Isn't Just For Installing Gentoo

Gentoo 2005.0 Released
·
· Score: 2, Informative
As you all know, Gentoo releases are just pre-compiled packages with on a live CD with an environment for you to work your way around in. This also comes in handy for rescuing any Linux installation, as I've done many times before. If you mess up your kernel config or your FS crashes and you can't acces *.fsck, you can always do it from the live CD. Just a note for those that have had horrid experiences with getting back into their desktops after upgrades.
I'm anti-piracy and all but this is the equivalent of charging someone with theft because they know where stolen materials are. Unless they're charging a server's owner based on what the server contains (ie: illegal movies) then they have no basis for going after any torrent-tracking websites.
I've been using Sunbird for a bit over a month now (the stand-alone builds). I must say I'm quite pleased. Stability-wise, it hasn't crashed on me once nor has it had any debilitating bugs. Features wise... Well... It tells me when I need to do something in three different ways! I guess I'm just pleased with it because now I do more stuff that I mean to (I'm a chronic walk-in-a-room-and-walk-out-without-doing-what-I-w alked-in-to-doer). I'd recommend it to people that have this and similar problems.
Gentoo had an ebuild that used a packaged version of the WineX CVS tree that was up for free but they were told by Transgaming to cease and desist for legal reasons. So if you do it yourself, it's perfect but if someone does it for you, it's illegal. Go figure.
I contacted someone on the NewEgg.com staff via e-mail regarding their international shipping policies. I was told the main reason they didn't ship to Canada was that it would be difficult for them to prosecute fraudulent credit card users, among other things. So it's essentially a conflict of laws. You might want to use NCIX.com in the meantime. I also find BBF.ca useful.
You're forgetting to mention a point you practically just pointed out. How large do you think illegal game and movie rips are? About the size of Linux distros. Therefore, I don't think the traffic margin would be more sizeable with legit traffic ratings because a heck of a lot of people still use mirrors to get Linux distros, videos, etc.
I think "happy" would do better. Freedom of choice isn't being spoiled. It's a basic right that satisfies the majority of people. By setting up monopolies, Microsoft are only preparing themselves for heavy hits like Firefox and anti-trust lawsuits. By Linux leaving themselves open to whomever wants to develop on their platform, it can only flourish in my opinion.
Unfortunately I've read some horrible stories on their own website (in the support section and new forums) about people having a bad time getting their already-working games working under Cedega. In fact, I've read an unfortunately large number of posts saying that they've downgraded to WineX because of the number of bugs. I'm not sure whether the editor noticed this but those facts certainly don't merit a 20/20 in my book...
I heard about a few people working on a Duke Nukem Forever one but they had to keep restarting to keep up with the current technology. It's expected to be shown around 2006.
It's a vicious circle that doesn't seem to have an escape. On the one hand, developers want to make money from their work. On the other, they want to market it in a way that it seems like it would be a shame not to buy the game for the price. Factor in piracy "stealing" money from the devs and you get the video game market. Like I said, there doesn't seem to be a way for everyone to play nicely unless one side digresses.

No, it just got Slashdotted. :P

At least there's hope that their next female sidekick will inadvertently post here tits on her blog.
