The article summary said, "Finally x86-64 users have some real viable choices out there". The first thought I had - like the anonymous parent - was "Really? Aren't there any other distros?"

AC went, googled, and answered my question.

    That's it.

I was mostly commenting on the sheet number of "we've heard this before, Slashdot - news - ha!" posts you see around here, and not aimed at you in particular. I *hadn't* heard about CueCats before (not an american geek), and found the article interesting. Sorry if you thought it was directed at you :).

Mostly, though, I couldn't resist repeating a post which wondered if it was doomed to be repeated forever. Forever is a long, long time, and I figured we had to start immediately to take advantage of the good weather we've been having lately ...

This is unfair moderation, IMNSHO! If you disagree with the poster, reply! I *am* curious: are people who have had enough with MS switching over to OS X instead of Linux? Has momentum slowed at places like KDE, Gnome and Enlightenment? Is this affecting Linux's establishment in server-land, or only a desktop thing? Is OS X stealing Window's marketshare or Linux's?

Come on, just cos you disagree doesn't mean the poster isn't stating his honest opinion!
