I have personal experience of doing EVERYTHING right when it came to seeing a good idea through that I had, INCLUDING getting it off the ground to where I was getting customers etc., but STILL could not get anyone to help me with money or advice to take it to the next level.
Sooo, hats off to everyone out there like me, who see improvements and new ideas, in EVERYTHING we look at all day.. to 'hang-in-there', and see the project through, regardless of the 'system's' attempt to stymie us..

NBTV (Narrow Band Television) with DAB for radio, especially in the Am Bands, seems a likely marriage that will allow for quick video broadcasting from anyone/anywhere, to anyone/anyware.
This is opposed to todays similar scene where picture fons and radio-viewers can only capture small clips of questionable quality and broadcast to one person at a time or just to the radio station they are listening/watching.
However since Narrow Band TV utilizes the Shortwave Bands of the radio spectrum, which allow for the transmissions of signals virtually around the globe, broadcasting to anyone and everyone can become common place.
The tech is there, it just needs to be put together, and rolled out, hopefully in spite of the inevitable road blocks that will be created by our fraternal governments.

The music/movie industries are sooo fat now, that they can play these games, that they never win.

I'm sure everyone else including the person seeking advice understands the difference between 'formating' a web page (which is all that HTML and PHP do, in their purest sense), and writing a program that can actually 'run' and 'do something'.
Just because something has a name or cliche attatched to it, as many scriping and 'Interpreted' languages do, does not make it so.
The issue here is to explain to the person entering this field, the various nuances that he/she may face in making a decision.
It is NOT to argue over issues that can easily be misconstrued, as you tried to do.
If the person we are helping is interested enough, they will investigate further to see what points are being made by any poster.
I did not say nor mean to imply that there were no relationships between 'scripting' and actual programming.
Scripting afterall is nothing more than taking commands that you would normally type on a command line, or 'editor', as opposed to learning an actual, bonifide 'Programming Language', which adheres to strict standards and protocals, which PHP DOES NOT.
HTML even has it's definition in its name, ie: 'Mark Up Language'.

However my point was not the possible benefits from taking alot of upper math, but the necessity of it, in most projects.
Lets face it, even one math class can be little more than a futile battle, which will leave many people with an even worse feeling about taking any more math related subjects, or majors that will require heavy math.
This could 'rub off' on potential creative programmers, who might 'think' that if they can't tackle Calculus, then they will not be a 'great programmer'.
I wanted to point out that unless the person interested in learning programming was sure about what type of projects he/she might be interested in ultimatly (ie. game writing, OS development, etc.), that taking alot of math may or may not be required.
In other words, obviously most engineering majors would indeed have no choice but to learn all aspects of upper-math.
This may cause someone who is 'terrible' or hates math to not choose that discipline, or be quite ineffective, or 'miserable' if they decided to continue on.

Just because someone singles you out ILLEGALLY doesn't mean you HAVE to go along with them!
He was WELL within his rights. The store owners CANT have it both ways-- either they are open for business, with FREE internet access, or they ARN'T.
They should be closed down, for RECO act violations and fraud for claiming to be 'open' for business, as many of these so-called business do these days.
These business owners are calling the cops more and more to issue trespass warnings, and therebye causing a potential violent situation, just because they dont' like someone!

Your wise crack about this being a non-story is the first thing I thought about when I saw the headline.
But actually, this IS a VERY big story, or should be.
Because these type of ATTACKS upon the good citizenry, is more than out of control.
Too often we hear about a guy like this, where the pigs (cops) killed an innocent person.
However I always JUMP FOR JOY, when I hear stories about men (like this poor guy) 'going off', and killing and seriously injuring many people, including cops, who think they can continuelly harass, arrest and kill us, and get away with it.

Your a classic example of someone-- the ONLY one, who thinks you have an intelligent remark here.
If they made friends with the guy by giving him a sample coffee and he used the bathroom, he would be treated like a regular customer, and therefore it would not be an issue whether he used the bathroom or not.
What kind of business stops ANYONE from using the bathroom, or getting water when they need it anyway??!
I know, plenty, but they are business that I don't give my money to.
In fact I try and ask first if I can either use the bathroom, or have water, before I frequent many business for the fist time, to qualify them. :)
As far as this guy 'creeping' out anyone, first of all, it is not angainst the law (yet) because someone gets 'creeped' out-- simply because you are 'there', or alive.
Furthermore, most people are NOT creeped out.. they are just wishing he was a 'creep', so he'd stick-it-up-their-arse, so then they'd have valid reason to REALLY be creeped out!! lol.
Actually people almost ALWAYS 'work themselves' into a frenzy over nothing.
However in a situation like this, I guess they and most patrons who witnessed this debacle, were DEFINITELY 'creeped' out and scared, once somone decided to call the pigs (ie. cops), which highened greatly any minor tennsion that may have been there already.
After all, we all know how smart and peace loving, and protective of the citizenry, the pigs are!!
People are NEVER 'creeped' out, or upset, or nervous, until a single trouble maker starts it.
And in this case, as in most, it was not that poor man, but some snot-nose-little-young-bitch probably, as it usually is, who 'stired up' everyone, and then made a non-issue into one that could have ended in even more tragedy (than just that poor man getting arrested), as these situations do ALL TO OFTEN EVERY DAY!!

Because.. if more people like him did, at the first sign of people (or pigs, ie. 'cops') harassing him, then people (or pigs) would not stick their nose where it did not belong.

You forgot the most important thing..
FIREPOWER to overtake anyone who tries to stop the protest.
That is unless, you don't mind getting pepper sprayed, arrested or worse.
That is one thing I can never understand about most protests.. that they KNOW they are going to be 'over powered', not matter how NICE they are, and yet they still come UNPREPARED!!
In fact, the 'NICER' they are, the more the pigs 'clamp' down on them.
Either come prepared, like they did in Seattle a few years ago, or stay at home and wait for the SYSTEM to colapse under it's own weight.. which it is mighty close to doing anyway, thank God.

MAFIARIAA's are slowely digging their graves, as people will always figure out ways to get what they want, so-called 'legally', or not.
The music/movie industries are sooo fat now, that they can play these games, that they never win.
However they can become a 'real' problem, since they are attempting to openly threaten our basic freedoms.
And the only way to combat them, is with our continued efforts to express ourselves with our speech, OSS, P2P, and other mechanisms which show these dirt bags, who reallly has ALL the power.

You are trying to confuse my points.
I'm sure everyone else including the person seeking advice understands the difference between 'formating' a web page (which is all that HTML and PHP do, in their purest sense), and writing a program that can actually 'run' and 'do something'.
Just because something has a name or cliche attatched to it, as many scriping and 'Interpreted' languages do, does not make it so.
The issue here is to explain to the person entering this field, the various nuances that he/she may face in making a decision.
It is NOT to argue over issues that can easily be misconstrued, as you tried to do.
If the person we are helping is interested enough, they will investigate further to see what points are being made by any poster.
I did not say nor mean to imply that there were no relationships between 'scripting' and actual programming.
Scripting afterall is nothing more than taking commands that you would normally type on a command line, or 'editor', as opposed to learning an actual, bonifide 'Programming Language', which adheres to strict standards and protocals, which PHP DOES NOT.
HTML even has it's definition in its name, ie: 'Mark Up Language'.
Scripting, and Programming, ARE LITERALLY two different things, as I will point out in the references listed below.

Mario I agree with you.
However my point was not the possible benefits from taking alot of upper math, but the necessity of it, in most projects.
Lets face it, even one math class can be little more than a futile battle, which will leave many people with an even worse feeling about taking any more math related subjects, or majors that will require heavy math.
This could 'rub off' on potential creative programmers, who might 'think' that if they can't tackle Calculus, then they will not be a 'great programmer'.
I wanted to point out that unless the person interested in learning programming was sure about what type of projects he/she might be interested in ultimatly (ie. game writing, OS development, etc.), that taking alot of math may or may not be required.
In other words, obviously most engineering majors would indeed have no choice but to learn all aspects of upper-math.
This may cause someone who is 'terrible' or hates math to not choose that discipline, or be quite ineffective, or 'miserable' if they decided to continue on.

Neither is html.. they are scripting 'languages', or 'mark up' languages, but not 'programming' languages, by any stretch of the imagination.
Just thought I'd clarify that for the person who is asking for help.. since there is a word of difference with these concepts and areas of programming.
