  1. The Real Reason on 60GB iPod Coming? · · Score: 1

The real reason Apple will make an iPod with the highest-capacity disk reasonably available is that there will always be the alpha geeks that will buy it, even if all they really will use is a few gigs.

  2. Simple Economics on Sun Says Hardware Will Be Free · · Score: 1

  3. Re:Language shouldn't matter! on First Java AP Computer Science Exam Complete · · Score: 1

The language isn't that important as far as the grade is concerned. You can still do well without having compilable Java syntax, as long as the key concepts such as OOP are understood.

  6. Jammers and Dampers on Cell-Phone Wars · · Score: 3, Informative

Though jamming a cell phone is illegal, it is legal to dampen the signal with certain materials. Strategies like this are already employed in some buildings such as theaters, and if this backlash continues we can expect to see damping in many more public places.

  7. Re:annoying registration on Requiem For The Record Store · · Score: 2, Informative

Why register? BugMeNot is a repository of public accounts for annoying sites that require registration for no apparent reason. The BugMeNot bookmarklet tells me that the login is ('fred', 'eatme'), but I'm pretty sure it is from the Washington Post's old system. If anybody just wasted the time to register a throw-away username now, a contribution to BugMeNot would be appreciated.
