The problem is that FOSS methods are very good for designing technical things like programs, but game design involves huge a art project, which requires massive funding (usually).
With this, if it works as advertised, I can choose to follow standards and still provide some means for those who have, for whatever reasons, chosen to use a non-free browser to use my content.
One of the main arguments for open source software is "open standards." If you are not making totally browser agnostic sites, with no consideration for what browser they may be using, then you are taking the position of Microsoft: "Let's commandeer the html standard so that ppl write for our browsers instead of according to standards!"
I was a newbie 2 years ago, and was often infuriated by poorly written GUI tools that crashed all the time. I found that the command line just simply worked.
The amusing part is that most of Japan's industry is itself controlled by a small number of monopolies: think Mitsubishi and Yamaha. (there are actually more but I can't remember them at the moment) These companies make everything
BTW, this is not a racist comment, I like the way they do buisiness.
From the licence: "UNIX-based Code'" shall mean any Code or Method that: (i) in its literal or non-literal expression, structure, format, use, functionality or adaptation (ii) is based on, developed in, derived from or is similar to (iii) any Code contained in or Method devised or developed in (iv) UNIX System V or UnixWare(R), or (v) any modification or derivative work based on or licensed under UNIX System V or UnixWare."
IANAL, but as BSD is also "Unix-like", it would be reasonable for Apple to sue for trying to licence their IP.
For example, RSS encryption works BECAUSE it is widely understood. If the source being open makes a program insecure, then we would already have good ways of factoring large primes.

No, for them, it needs to come with the distro they use... which it will.
Good point. If you could please dupe all stories between May 1st and may 15 of 2002, it would be much appriciated, as I was 'on holiday.'
